It depends on what ethnic group your boyfriend is from; the official language is English but we have many tribes (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Fulani, etc).

You sound [type] like you're not a Nigerian. There is no language called "Nigerian" -- in fact there are more than 250 unique languages in Nigeria [according to the last National Geographic count]. Maybe you should find out what tribe he's from or just post his name and/or surname here so that we have an idea of where he's from --- that is, if you want to surprise him.

Bear in mind that most Nigerian languages are not pronounced the way they look on paper [or screen] so someone mighthave to volunteer a voice recording for you to hone your skills.

By the way, I commend you -- you must really love your man very much to try to tell him you love him in his language [I think that's very romantic]. If you don't know how to pronounce it, just write it down and maybe in one of your private moments show it to him and ask him to help you pronounce it. He'll catch on quickly and love you for making the effort. I'm sure he'll be glad to teach you!

I wonder how it will sound-like coming out of your mouth, you don't know how to say it in the simplest form how then will you say it the Nigerian languages. Simply tell him in the best way you can, that is what makes you different from others that have been telling him such.

Anyway and anyhow, whichever comes first, i wish you well.
