The prophet Ezekiel's "vision", recorded in the bible, is thought by some to be a UFO sighting. His description is of a strange "vehicle" coming from the sky and landing near the Chebar River (or canal) in Chaldea (now Iraq) in the fifth year of the Judean captivity (592 B.C.) under Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon:


"What kind of 'machine' was this?" Ezekiel continues: And from the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And from this was their appearance: they had the form of men, but each had four faces, and each of them had four wings. Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf's foot; and they sparkled like burnished bronze. Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands, each had the face of a man in front; the four had the face of a lion on the right side, the face of an ox on the left side, and, the face of an eagle at the back, and their wings were spread out above; each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies. And each [creature] went straight forward, without turning as they went, And the living creatures darted to and fro, like a flash of lightning."

Who were these humanoid "occupants"? Space-helmeted, space-suited astronauts with a strapped-on flying device? Or, perhaps, extraterrestrial flying robots? The account continues:


"Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel upon the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them. As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of a chrysolite, being as it were a wheel within a wheel, The four wheels had rims and they had spokes; and their rims were full of eyes round about. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose."

Were these humanoids going back and forth into a green-glowing spacecraft surrounded by a ring of portholes? But there is more:


", there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire; and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness as it were of a human form. And upward from, his loins I saw as it were gleaming bronze, and there was brightness, like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of the rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about, And when I saw it, I heard the voice of one speaking."

Ezekiel is told that the Israelites have transgressed and are to be punished unless they obey the Lord's commandments. Ezekiel is selected as the messenger to his people and is taken on board ("the spirit lifted me up"wink. The spacecraft takes off ("I heard, the sound of the wheels, that sounded like a great earthquake"wink, and Ezekiel is carried to Tel-abib where his fellow exiles are and where he sits "overwhelmed among them seven days," traumatized by his experience. (Ezekiel 1-3) (As we can see from contemporary UFO encounters, this could be interpreted as an almost classic report of the abduction and return of humans.)

OMG I expected much from u. You mentioned an Airplane. And even if it comes from an unknown origin (doesnt apply to UFO's definition ), it is an Airplane because you can identify it. Men UFO's exist and i've seen one.

My Guy Has Been Reading Erika Cheetham. Read them in JS1 was Almost fooled by such gist. Though they were really entertaining. Try looking for Edgar Cayce's too. Plenty of Jargons for Your Idle Time. Enjoy grin

I am confused, UFO might exist, but what as that got to do with aliens , are u suggesting that their is life in other planet somewhere ? thats scary (I think we should hold the next miss universe in pluto, lol)

Angels were presented as having a physical nature in the bible and not as spirit beings, if that is the case they must have had a physical means of transportation. To assume we are alone in this universe which consists of trillions of planets would be simply propestorous. The question i would like to ask is where is heaven? does it have a physical or spiritual existence? The bible records that prophet Elijah was physically transported there in a chariot of fire. Could chariot of fire be the ancient israelites way of describing a space rocket as chariots were the only vehicles know to them then.

I find it agonizingly depressing that y'all will focus on UFOs and old skool lore ,

We are not trying to argue they exist, we are simply complaining that they should stop fu$#%kin up our lives

Look at OBJ and Yar' Adua. take Larry King for example, do you realize these guys are not dead even when they should have pegged decades ago, Alien technology kept them alive

The Ezekiel "vision" describes cherubs.
These are found elsewhere in the Bible long before Ezekiel.

To say that they describe aliens is a stretch when you look at the actual passages.

3 The winged creatures were standing south of the temple when the man walked among them. A cloud filled the inner courtyard,

4 and the brightness of the LORD's glory moved from above the creatures and stopped at the entrance of the temple. The entire temple was filled with his glory, and the courtyard was dazzling bright.

5 The sound of the creatures' wings was as loud as the voice of God All-Powerful and could even be heard in the outer courtyard.

6 The man in the robe was now standing beside a wheel.

7 One of the four creatures reached its hand into the fire among them and gave him some of the hot coals. The man took the coals and left.

8 I noticed again that each of the four winged creatures had what looked like human hands under their wings,

9 and I saw the four wheels near the creatures. These wheels were shining like chrysolite.

10 Each wheel was exactly the same and had a second wheel that cut through the middle of it,

11 so that they could move in any direction without turning. The wheels moved together whenever the creatures moved.

12 I also noticed that the wheels and the creatures' bodies, including their backs, their hands, and their wings, were covered with eyes.

13 And I heard a voice calling these "the wheels that spin."

14 Each of the winged creatures had four faces: the face of a bull, the face of a human, the face of a lion, and the face of an eagle.

15 These were the same creatures I had seen near the Chebar River. They controlled when and where the wheels moved--the wheels went wherever the creatures went and stopped whenever they stopped. Even when the creatures flew in the air, the wheels stayed beside them.

Two things to note:
One: the creatures are described as flying themselves - not with the aid of a space-craft, they were winged.
Two: they were supposedly depicted on the lid of the Ark of the Covenant.

Ezekiel is making a description of his vision when he approached the Ark - the place where his god was supposed to reside.

UFOs exist, there is more than enough documented evidence spanning several years that prove this, the only controversy is who the actual occupants of the flying objects are, whether they are alien craft or secret military aircraft.

The material I've perused seem to lead to compelling evidence that you're right. Remember when you pointed me to some websites to check out? I've gone through them, and my search took me to many places. I haven't abandoned the 'orphic' thread, but m-e-n. . . so many things to carefully look through. Currently I'm on this page ('official' website of Alien Intrusion - if it doesn't open the first time, refresh the page and you'll get there). Haven't digested their articles yet. . .  but let's see as time goes on. wink

There is a possibility that UFO's and aliens from other planets exist, although I am yet to see one, but the evidence in recent years has been quite compelling. I wont be quick to dismiss those that believe in it as "conspiracy theorist" because they could be right after all!!!

The question I would like to ask is: if aliens exist what is its implication for mankind?

UFOs exist and they have been appearing on this planet for centuries. it is also the basis for the "alien" god theory. There are also a good number of alledge UFO occurences in the bible you may wish to visit this site http://www.bibleufo.com/ for more info on the topic. I found it very intriguing wink

i am glad i came across this blog.

i have been trying to get people to believe what i saw back in my boarding school in 1989.

during our night prep, i and my classmates noticed a slow moving light flying low around our school, then after wards we forgot about it.

about an hour or so, i was sent on an errand with a classmate of mine, and on our way, all of a sudden there was a bright light from above shining down at us.

we panicked and ran to the dining hall where our seniors (JSS3 students) were preparing for their exams and while we ran the light came after us.

it was our shouts that drew the attention of our seniors and lo and behold, this light flew vertically right into the sky with so much speed and left (bisco) lights in the sky.

we were all scared and dat was dat.

about a month later, i noticed that there was an unusual light hanging in the sky with blue and red lights blinking.

it was there for about 4 nights and i stopped seeing them.

i havent been able to take this experience off my mind, and that got me reading a lot about ufo's on the internet , until i stumbled on this blog.

i know the pyramids, mayan tribes, hieroglyphics, our masquerade festivals, and most especially the vision of Prophet Ezekiel, says it all about a higher intelligence.

we are not alone!

am glad u have seen one too Jerryman.
