The Policemen in my area are partially obeying the order. They only mount road blocks in the early hours of the morning and 7.00am, they all disappear. What's happening in your area?

In some parts of port harcourt,they have even added more.

ok, lets refrain. How do you feel about the IG order of banning road blocks. Is Nigeria ripe enough to have our roads and streets without police road blocks.

Don't think it's a ban as such, i think it's more of a tool of negotiation by the IGP to stipulate his own share of money realized from road blocks

Policemen from Aguda Police station normally mount road block from 6 am at the junction between Bakery and Babs Animashaun (in front of Aguda Police station) and extort money from motorists. I dont know if they disappear later on because i only pass there to work around 6.26am. And in the evening policemen mount road block around NEPA on the road leading to our Lady of Fatimah Aguda. These are the routes I go through - to & fro work. I dont know what happens in other parts of Aguda. I dont think the IGs order has any bite in it. The IG should send monitoring team to apprehend these criminals who call themselves policemen.

travelled all da way from benin to lagos took 4hrs not one check point on the road. flew like the wind. no a holes stopping and asking ridiculous questions like CMR or receipt for the car!!

All this dirty news we've been hearing of men of NPF killing unarmed Nigerians because they refuse to be extorted is getting out of legs 'cos it's already out of hands. I seriously think it's time the Federal Government legalizes the use of firearms. Since they cannot protect the citizenry, let the masses protect themselves. NonSenSE Nation

Traveled from Enugu to Onitsha, no road blocks and then from Enugu to 0werri and back and no police anywhere, is Nigeria getting better of somfn?

Sagamu to the ogun state border- hitherto very notorious for endless check points and extortion has remained relatively free since the order. Though u still some of them looking like hungry lions at the old toll gate in ijebu ode from 7pm trying to do biz as usual.

We Nigerians love deceving ourselvez, NPF needs reformation and sensitization, not just sitting one place and giving orders, IG is just givin orders his boyz are busy doing samething everyday, lets wake up

Thanks for that info. What's the situation when travelling from Lagos to Benin? Cos thats where the problem lies. Benin to Lagos was relatively free even before the order.

policemen are back on Lagos/Ibadan expressway! the vehicle i boarded paid =N=20.00 each in three roadblocks.one of the roadblock was mounted by highway patrol team as it was writing on their jeep. i was unable to read/ capture their registration number. some are covering their faces and their shoulder so that no body sees their number and name

traveled from lagos to PH yesterday and got to ph by 4pm. ordinarily, that jouney used to be a whole day affair. i saw a few police check points but most of them are currently not bottle necks like they used to be.

i believe the order is being obeyed at the moment because they are still sizing up the guy. you will all know he has started colecting his own bribe once you see the road blocks return

They still come out around 5am till about 6:30am to collect money from bike around Egbeda area, please these draculers should be check mated before they kill another innocent person because of 20naira.

This order has been given before. Whenever it is given, they simply stop installing old tires and obstacles on the road.

But then they still pack their car/truck on the road and continue collecting N50. While the IG may have banned road blocks, he has not banned stop and search or stop and collect N50.

In my area in PH you only see them standing beside their vans. It's nice but hope robbers won't take advantage.

I'm just wondering if there's a way Innocent citizens can enforce their rights when molested unecessarily by policemen at check points. Who should I report to and how do I make such report?

Today,4rm Makurdi to Enugu is a clear example of the violation of IGP's orderg. where there is joint road block or check point,the soldier now engage in shameless collection of 'toll fee' with reckless abandon.
I think every Nigerian needs total reformation,inclusive the unborn baby in womb.
