Which god? The god of Muslims or the mormons or the pagan gods?
There is nothing like "you need God",cos there are many gods of different religions with different characters.

I think what one needs is Jesus, he has set us apart,and shown us the way to the true God, different from the other gods of other religions. He is the only true God.
