The Group Chief Operating Officer of telecommunication giant, Globacom, Mohammed Jameel is a very patient person. But for some reasons, Otunba Mike Adenuga was bent on discovering the limits of his patience. And last year December, Jameel’s patience evaporated as he left Nigeria for his country, India and has refused to return.

His action was apparently due to Globacom owner, Otunba Mike Adenuga’s non-adherence to best practice, which sparked war between them. An interesting example of jungle employer, the Ijebu-born billionaire gives his employees an amazing amount of poo, including those in the management team.

Loud-mouthed, Adenuga has a history of hurling abuse at his employees. It is said that he is also quick at regaling his employees with tales of how he made it early in life when they disagree with him on official matters. “When Otunba’s view on an issue is not shared, he insists that his would be the official position of the company, and he would berate anyone with different views” said inside sources.

A disturbing mantra, Otunba Adenuga has also created an atmosphere of mistrust in Globacom with the accounting method in operation. He is the only one who signs the company’s cheques. Last year when he slumped in his Lagos office at Adeola Odeku in Victoria Island, and was flown abroad for medical attention, many companies that Globacom was indebted to, waited for several days for his return before they got paid.

This crude management, ruptured the ties between Otunba Adenuga and Globacom Group Operating Officer, Mohammed Jameel who had long been swallowing his frustration until last December when he walked out on the job, and left for his country, India. “Jameel did not even resign, he just left like that. The last time something like this happened, we had to wait for his arrival before some jobs were done. But now we are going about our jobs as usual” a Globacom staff who craved anonymity told orijoreporters.

However, long before Jameel’s action, his deputy, Mr. Kenhoul, a Briton was furious at the unfair way Adenuga treats his employees, and had walked out on him and his job, and went back to Britain. He recently returned to Nigeria to set up a communication company.

If you can work successfully with an ijebuman and enjoy your time with him, you can work with every and any person in the world. They are so primitive in thinking. Anywhere Globacom is dead so dude should go invest the money he got from the partnership

George Andah moves again, leaves Airtel for GLO

Mr. George Andah, former Chief Marketing Officer of MTN has moved from Bharti Airtel and is now the Chief Operating Officer of one of the leading telecoms operator in Africa, GLO.



Andah, who was formerly at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, was in 2009 awarded the Marketing Man of the Year, along several other awards he picked up for his marketing acumen.

He has also been credited as having played crucial roles in MTN Ghana's growth and huge success as a market leader in Ghana.

His move could be part of GLO’s plan to capture the Ghanaian market and also make it a leading brand as he did with Bharti Airtel, MTN and Guinness Ghana Limited.

Andah’s move is said to be strategic for Glo’s quest to become a market leader in Ghana, especially with his experience in the Ghanaian market while working for MTN.

Andah who is already in the country to start work according to reports.


Meanwhile, Glo is expected to launch its services this month.

Andah attained his first degree in Bsc Biochemistry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

I am very sure that Mr. George Andah is thanking God while he swims in raw cash and pretty much on top of the world like many others that have crossed the river to join Glo. The beginning is always sweet with Mike Adenuga.
I hope it wouldn't take him too long to realize the type of unstructured, uncaged, ignorant tyrant he is working for. The key to his success with Glo is to steal as much as possible and leave. Do not allow to be sacked or fired by this tyrant. All the people he fired from the past didn't last long before they kicked the bucket and the ones that survived the firing usually struggle for the rest of their lives.

There is no way you can leave MTN or Airtel to work for Glo and be happy. The tyrant will belittle you 99% of your time with the organization. Apart from the access you get to an uncountable amount of money (of course, because the tyrant is mostly confused and doesn't even know how much comes in and goes out) there is nothing else Glo can offer.

The ones that stay with him and take his unbearable abuse have no other ways to exist. Do not fall into this terrible category.

To be honest I dont know much as per this man called Adenuga all I know about him is he owns Globacom. But let us not forget that we havent heard his own story yet so I find it hard to judge him or condemn him beside no one can satisfy human being this is the truth. In my entire life, I have never seen a succesful man that is well loved by his staff unless he is allowing them to ruin him. If you guys have such a brilliant idea that adenuga disagrees with why can't you go and start your own and let's see how succesful you will be. Instead of focusing on his bad sides, why can't you look for that quality that made this man what he is today. The man must be gettinng something right for him to own globacom ETB Conoil and you are here saying thrash about niceties. You can't be truly succesful if you want the whole world to love you. Quote me. Nice people are rarely succesful anyway. A brother of mine worked with jimoh ibrahim and he said the same thing. I used to work under a very succesful boss and every staff used to complain about him yet many of them had been in the company for more than ten years yet they didn't leave. Just like anyone of us, Mike Adenuga is not a perfect man, but God knows that he is trying his best. No one can imagine operating multiple businesses in the jungle and dealing with different type of animals.

Pls guys, let us not be too sentimental over matters we do not have the details. we have neither heard from Jameel nor from Adenuga and so we cannot categorically say that the former has even resigned! Even if he has, has Jameel told anybody why he left? If Adenuga maltreated him the way it has been reported, how was he able to remain in Glo for over 8 years? If Adenuga is as wicked as is being reported, how come hundreds of people have worked with him for decades and are ready to vouch for the man's humaneness? Pls, don't let us vilify a man who has positively touched thousands of lives in Nigeria and beyond.

This discussion is not on point. What does a rumoured COO resigning have to do with the character of the owner of the company? COO's resign everyday across the globe. Some are even booted out. @ Paulo: dead right my broda. while other telecom companies are siphoning their billions abroad, Adenuga is using Glo to empower Nigerians. thousands of Nigerians are in his employment. he is supporting our football league. he is supporting arts and culture through music and Nollywood ambassadors. i have heard about his silent philanthropy, how he quietly paid the foreign hospital bills running into tens of thousands of dollars for two Nigerian musicians who recently suffered from terminal ailments. does this sound like what a wicked man will do?

Am surprised that Nigerians can so maliciously vilify a man that has done so much for Nigerians. Adenuga has never been in govt. but in my estimation he has done more than our govt officials who do more of taking than giving to the masses. He not only has created jobs but has made Nigerians proud by investing outside our shores. About the issue of Mr. Jameel, why should it be an issue if a CEO or COO or 'O' leaves a company. Many of the comments here are just based on hearsay and rumours. I suspect some of the people commenting here have an axe to grind or were recenlty fired by Adenuga. Even Steve Jobs, one of the few geniuses of our time, was well known for his uncharacteristic attitude to issues. I dont even see what this hulabaloo is all about. And it is grossly unfair to bring the man's family into this discussion. This man used his resources to develop Nigeria and some people are attacking him. A politician recently pleaded guilty to stealing 250 million Britsh pounds in public funds and no one is talking. We had to wait for the British to convict him. Thousands of these political criminals are walking free in every region of the country for God's sake. Haba!

You are a disgrace to mankind. Look at the way you have been slashing the man day in-day out. I believe there is something else to your haterd for Adenuga's soul. If Adenuga was that daft, how did he become a billionaire? I know a lot of people who work at Globacom and are doing just fine. This is a man that gives jobs to thousands of people every year and you are claiming even his children hate him. Really? Did you see his son's wedding last year with his children all over him? This is a succesful man and he reuses to let anyone ruin his business. When you get really involved in your own business, people will start to criticize you because you can't just open your eyes while others who knew nothing about how you started or got the capital to do business destroy it for you.

As I said earlier I will not Judge Adenuga for any reason because I never meet him or work with him or hear his own part of the story, moreso no matter how nice someone is people would still say he is bad or wicked this is just human for us. All I know is there is no reason wasting energy and time on a world class billionaire its just like when a poor man started given himself headache because of a rich man definitly the poor man will die of grumbling.

When we close our eyes and allow employers or wealthy tyrants of any kind to continue to mistreat or misuse us in Nigeria, our talent in general will not be utilized to the full potential and majority of us will continue to look for opportunities in other countries.

I have been reading your several posts lambasting Mr Adenuga for quite sometime. This is not the first time you posted to dismantle the guy on this forum. Is that true or not? It is not by force to accept working for him. If anyone is not satisfy with the way he runs his business, then the person should look for other ways to earn a living.

Respect the fact that he has created an environment where thousands of Nigerian citizens work. Adenuga did not steal from Nigerian government or any entity that I know of. The guy is tough as nail because he worked hard to earn his billion and he is not ready to let anyone ruin it for him.
