i am planning to do my masters in aussi, pls can some1 give me a detailed step by step stages for processing my visa, a list of the requirements, i also intend to include my 2 kids and hubby in my application (i saw on their website it will be possible) dont know if it will be realistic. need an urgent response

You need to apply to the school first and get you an admission letter that is where you begin the application process.

How long is the study for?

How much have you got planned for this whole trip?

Yes, your hubby and kids can go with you but they are all going to be dependents on your visa, it is very possible as long as you get the visa they'll get theirs. Infact it happens a lot but you must have enough money to show that you's can take care of yourselves hence my askin you how much you've saved for this trip

It all depends on your course of study and how long the course is for. Say for instance your fees is 10000 per semester, you need to pay that fee have enough to cover your expenses for the first 24 months and have enough to pay for the rest of your fees.

I have already started applying to schools, i want to do a masters in social works, most schools run the course for 1.5 to 2yrs.
Most of the schools I am applying to are between $18,000 to $33,000 for full course fee, on the aussi visa site they said I will need the following amount for the upkeep of my family me=$18,000, hubby=$6,500, 1st child=$3,600, 2nd child=$2,700 total is about $33,000 and am sure they will expect a little extra. This is almost $60,000 hmmmmm which i do not have but i have enuf to pay my full fees, but i hv to go with my kids i wont concentrate without them & if their dad is there too he can help me out with them when I am in school and do his biz when I am free.

so what i want to do is to get a sponsor for my fees (i.e use his statement), then use my statement to prove tht i hv sufficient funds for our upkeep (will it work)
my question now is
1. does my sponsor's statement have to have the full fee or it can just have enuf for the first year?
2. do i hv to pay my complete fee 4 1st yr b4 they issue me the visa
3. if i am able to take care of my fees, and few other stuff can i and my hubby work to manage ourselves and the 2 kids
4. is it easy to get a job in my field and settle there after my studies

You need to have enough to last you for the first 24 months in Australia.

You and your husband can work but you are allowed to work 20hours a week when school is in session and unlimited hours when school is on break/hols.

You and your husband can use both statements, I don't really think that is a problem. I know of someone who got sponsored by his girlfriends father, all they need is a statement showing that yous can take care of yourselves and if you both are married under the law, then I don't think it should be a problem at all.

The quickest way to get a permanent residence is by getting an employer to sponsor you. The mistakes some Nigerians make is working in a different field from what they are studying. You see some of then studying nursing and working in a supermarket, or studying mining and working in McDonalds. Get a job that is related to what you are studying, then you stand a 90% chance of being sponsored by your employer after studies plus the experience you have gained whilst working there. It is difficult to approach an employer that you have had nothing to do with and expect them to sponsor you. It happens on rare occasions but the chances are slim.

Get a job that relates to your field, be good to your employers and when you are done with studies, some of them will be very happy to sponsor you.

Employer sponsored is the fastest way to get your permanent stay. My cousins took 3 days but then she is single without family guess it must have helped.

@olaremy2k; The cost for study largely depends on the course you intend to study, so i suggest you go thru all the universities in australia (google list of universities in australia) then go thru the schs 1 after the other to check the course you wud like to study and the cost (thts the process i am in now and it is really helpful) but if you do not have time you can check the following universities (from my own search i hv discovered they r cheaper than others for my course) Uni of tasmania, uni of Victoria, flinders uni, australia catholic uni, uni of sunshine coast.
