Apple Inc took the wraps off a faster 4G-equipped iPad on Wednesday, hoping the latest version of its tablet can safeguard its dominance as rivals from Amazon to Samsung pile into the market.

CEO Tim Cook, presiding over his biggest product launch since 2011′s voice-enabled iPhone 4S, introduced the highly anticipated third iteration of the tablet, which commands upwards of two-thirds of the growing market.

The newest iPad will be capable of operating on a high-speed 4G “LTE” or Long-Term Evolution network. At speeds roughly 10 times faster than current 3G technology, that may help banish the sometimes shaky video quality of older devices.

Apple is betting a 4G-equipped iPad will tempt more U.S. consumers to pay extra for higher-quality video on the go. That, in turn, should give Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc a revenue boost, analysts say.

who specializes in some worth setting the pace in the mobile pc industry would at least

put out something worth buying the Ipad HD for. Screen size?? oh yeah like the human

eye can detect that. A5X processor? uhmmm kk, try explaining that to a noob 4G?? Most OEMS

have been there and done that.

The older iPads have a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Pixel density of around 160 dpi.
The new iPad has the highest resolution of any mobile device out there, pixel density of > 250 dpi.

The difference in screen quality is the most obvious change in the new iPad, the very FIRST thing you notice. What tech blogs have you been reading? Everyone has been blown away by the screen quality.

The most impressive feature is the screen resolution.

Two independent reviews complained of the processor speed. Takes long to load some apps.

Hardware wise nothing new, the strength of the ipad is the ios.

I had long predicted 2012 as the breaking point for the ipad, especially this summer, when windows tablets will take the stage, along with a flurry of other tablets, until then i keep my fingers crossed but can bet apple will be struggling to maintain a 50% market share.

are taking is a risky one. The only reason why apple has been able to get away with producing products

that are specs wise nothing to write home about and pricing them high is becos of Steve Jobs. Steve

was more than an innovator to apple. He knew what to say and how to convince people to buy a product.

He isnt there anymore, Just wait until the Steve Jobs momentum finally dies down.

You know what?

you may be right. And No, i havent been reading any blogs.

I am opportunied to be in this industry where stuff like these

are created, made and discussed about.

I still maintain that there is only so much that the eye can see when it comes

to pixels.

Ofcourse when 1080p content and gaming comes to the ITunes store, then one

will begin to see the benefits of the screen. The only thing that actually catches my

fancy is the now 4G capability and the A5X Processor.

all the other phone makers combined can never leave apple behind. . . .it's not just possible.
wait till iphone-5 comes out.

Its Apple, they will continue to make impressive products. problem is they have set the bar so everyone expects revolution everytime they release something new.The current ipad2 is still the best tablet out there ( and im not really a fan of iOS) and this new ipad when just cements their position in the tablet market.

Android and Windows 8 are way to young tablet wise. They might catch up on phones but with tablets Apple had a proper headstart.

I am very intrigued by Windows tablets though but we all know how things always look better in theory.
