if michael ballack should join chelsea next season. who sits on the bench. lampard , makalele or essien or joe cole or will mourinho bench robben on the wing. i think all this spontaenous buying of top quality players will destroy Chelsea's morale. |

I get a feeling it will be Essien, except Lampard leaves or Mourinho changes his formation. Of course he could move Essien deeper since Maka is getting older. My bigger fear is for Mikel if he finally goes to Chelsea. I hope considers things properly.  |

If Ballack moves to Chelsea, the Ideal thing would be to bench Lampard, seeing as they are both attacking midfeilders and Ballack is far better. Unless Jose decides to play the two attacking midfeilders with Maka or Essien as a holding midefilder, I see Lampard getting less playing time. And by the way, a move to Barca would not be a step in the right direction, because I don't see who Barca will drop in the midfeild to accomodate him. He is a very good midfeilder, no doubt. But for his position, Barca have got Deco, Xavi, Motta and Van Bommel, who I think will be ahead of him in the pecking order. It doen't help matters that he's not very flexible either. |

ballack is an attacking midfielder, so i think the competition is between him, lampard and jole cole. i see joe cole benched and thats sad cuz he's one of my best players at chelsea. |

Did you see the role Jose bringing Essien to now (just few minutea ago, match agaist Man City)? thats is, to tell you Cole is not gonna be benched, cant wait to see Lampard, Ballack and Essien in the mid-field, lets see who is gonna break that middle thru! buhhahaha! Love my Chelsea True Blue! |

@Monchefella There is nothing like fancy, its about what the Coach wants. Lauren has never play as a defender before he joined Arsena, Essien is attacking midfielder at Lyon while Alan Smith is a Striker is formerly a Leeds Striker. @NightRider He's destroying Phillips career! Did you know what you are talking about? Its a norm that when you come to a star-studed team , you must perform. Even if they give 10mins, he must prove himself first then goodies will follow. |

@ Akolawole, none of those players you mentioned is as accomplished or experienced as Ballack. It's like asking Zizou to play defensive midfield. He will play but be very unhappy and will not give you his best. |

Talk of tropies and trophy wives! Ballack is about to say" I do" and become a trophy wife at the end of the season. Any way its fame he is out for cos in Bayern or Bundesliga we dont pay much attention to. I dont care who will be benched even if its my only Didier so long as he will be in Chelsea and getting his huge cheque |

How can Jole cole be benched? Joe Cole will move to the wing. Robben or D. Duff suffers that. Then Ballack moves to the mid field, Pairing up with Lampard. Makalele is the one to be benched. The attacking arrow of Chelsea will be too dangerous. Drogba will no longer to back to defend. And you'll see drogba's best. |

benching makelele is goin to be the downfall of chelsea how can makelele be benched, it shows that u don't watch football, he is the man behind chelsea's success behind everysuccessfull lampard there is a makelele, take that from me, and that is a fact, when he was in madrid, he helped madrid, till now, madrid has not found a better 4 than claude. |
