Pentecostal And Word Of Faith Preachers Installing Their Relatives In Churches. by Goshen360(m): 7:51pm On Apr 03, 2012
Recently, I began to observe this moves of Pentecostal and Word of Faith Preachers in the body of Christ, as founders of a particular local church installs their relative (spouse or son) in anticipation of their death. I began to search the scriptural basis for such replacement after them but I found none in the word of God.

To add to my quest, I recently watched a well respected WoF teacher here in the United States stylishly and officially installing his son to take after him as he is currently old. This left me in a questioning state of mind so i decided to bring it on board for discussion. This practices has become the common practices of modern day Pentecostal and WoF preachers and it's spreading like a virus within the body of Christ.

I have always believed the church belongs to Jesus who is the head of the church and He (Jesus) had appointed men for positions of authority and ruler-ship in the church. Also, I believe the NT gave us a pattern of appointing leaders for succession in the church and this pattern must be followed.

Let's share our views on this crucial matter in the body of Christ.

Its not just the US, it is fast becoming a global phenomenum. In Nigeria, its the norm.
Materialism and greed remains the yardstick for such practice. A lot of Aarons & joshuas after labouring for the growth of the ministry are relegated to the background to make way for the bishop/g.o/senior pastor' son or .....
Help us Lord! Restore your Church!

Is this suppose to mean (from my thought) that these founders are just using God's people to establish family inheritance? When "Aaron and Joshua" labour together with these church founders and all next we see is, the son or wife comes to take over. Can this be God telling them to hand over to their son or wife? Seriously, something is wrong somewhere.

This is a trend in some parts of the Body and the simple explanation, really, is that such leaders have made church their personal business thus they set up succession plans patterned after family inheritance. But there are those who know the truth that church belongs to God. I am encouraged when I remember the story of Pa Akindayomi, founder of rccg. He listened to God's voice in choosing a successor even though he had grown children and a wife that could take over from him. I believe there are still people like him, few as they may be.

Did you all not know that these were businesses all along? Whoever thought they were churches?

There is only one Church that was founded by Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls. All the rest are shops founded by men for their personal benefit (either financial or otherwise).

But my guess is that you will not find that Church because you are hell bent on running around from one shop to the other.

Good luck!

Bolded in black. My same thought but you have explained it in a better way. What has the church of Jesus turned into? Many Christians thought they are worshiping God but never realized they are secretly being used to help a successive family establishment that will remain a family inheritance, it is called monument not church. Examples of true church is found in the word of God.

Bolded in Red. One of the good examples in that area is the RCCG and I thank God for the founder. This is one thing I hate so much about this religious people. When it comes to things like installing their family members as successor, they quote the old testament and when it comes to things that favours them, they quote the new testament. Imagine the one recent one i watched in the U.S here quoting God as God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I shook my head. Is the church born out of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or born out of Christ? Obviously, the answers are very clear.

SMH.

Lol. So the RCCG which is your good example of 'a true church of God' was founded by a man.

A man founded your 'body of Christ'

Lord have mercy!

My statement in Red stated I acknowledged the true church while my statement in green acknowledged my fact that RCCG is a good example of the true church as it relates to successor which the founder of RCCG acted according to the true church based on the word of God. Can you spot the difference sir?

Okay I now under that you meant The founder of RCCG acted according to the word of God (in your opinion) in choosing his successor, Sorry. But you are the cause of the confusion.

When you say "RCCG is a good example of the true church", you must realize that that statement doesn't make sense (don't mean to be rude). "The true Church" can only be ONE, so there cannot be an example of it. For example: the most populous nation in Africa is Nigeria. So you cannot say "an example of the most populous nation in Africa is (Nigeria or any other nation). It wouldn't make sense. It is Nigeria! Nothiing else. No examples. So also, "the true much" means you know there's only ONE true Church. It is either RCCG or some other church. No examples.

You see it's not my fault that I couldn't make sense of even the rest of your post.
