Which Is More Significant--the Beginning, Middle Or End Of A Thing? by bokohalal1: 12:26pm On Apr 07, 2012
I have been wondering--what's the most important aspect of a thing? Talking about 'things', this ranges from our lives as humans (Childhood-old age) to career, academics, business, marriage, projects etc.

I mean that aspect considered weighty and pertinent. Is it the beginning of a thing, the middle of it or the end of it?

Oftentimes, I come across motivational speakers having conflicting ideas about this same issue, some say "beginning does not matter, how you end is what matters, your background matter less" while some others will say "the midpoint of your life is most vital, it is when U can correct the mistakes you made at the foundation" and "the foundation is the most significant".

So guys, I am interested in your opinions about this issue.

A little hint from BABA GOD!

Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit

@Jason, thanks for your response esp. for the scriptural backup, but are you implying that even before the beginning of an endeavour, more drive should be planned for channeling towards the end of the endeavour?

Sorry for the extremely late response.

The thing is that the word of God is a double edged sword! It can mean one thing or the other or even both; it might mean something to you while it means the other to me. We need wisdom to understand it (If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him James 1:5).

However, if we go by the literal meaning, then we should always work towards the end of something than its beginning. After all, the reason we are Christians (assuming you are but if you are no, it really does not matter) is to be counted AT THE END as one of God's chosen and to make heaven!!!

Even in life, we tend to enjoy the end of things and events more than its beginning (Sex, Graduation, Weekends etc).

I hope that helps?!

I agree with my brother jason123. To add more, I think both the beginning and ending is spoken in the scripture but much emphasis laid on the ending though. Jesus is called the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending and the bible says "As He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world". Also, it is written that the glory of the latter shall be greater than the former. Both are important because if the foundation (beginning) be destroyed, what then can the righteous do? However, much emphasis is laid on the ending. My prayer is, if you have started well, you will finish well by this, the Grace of the Author and finisher rest on us. Glory to God.

That's the recipe for all the evils of the world today. It's ok to exploit the poor, and engage in slave trade killing millions of people in the process since we can all make money and build big rich developed countries like the USA at the end of it! That the bible supports this ideology is just another indicator that that book has absolutely nothing to do with the Creator of the universe, but is merely the work of men.

But the Bible is CLEARLY against exploitation! Have you heard of the "tax collector" before?

Secoond, the bible say, "Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land."Isaiah 5:8. Bruv, the Bible's position is clear. WE need wisdom to understand it
