Was watching the news, and was surprised to see the T&T Ambassador to Nigeria has what looks like an Igbo surname name (Obika) . Does anyone know whats going on? It would be fascinating to find out that families in T&T, over the centuries, have kept the names of their forebears brought over from Africa. |

Most likely came from Nigeria (igbo) and over the years, the family kept the surname. He is not the only one though, we have seen others. this might provide some more insight if you want about Obika family http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=lgosBif4yqIC&pg=PA6&dq=nyahuma+obika&hl=en&sa=X&ei=Ii2GT7_KBMXb0QXAyPmsBw&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBw#v=onepage&q=nyahuma%20obika&f=false |
