Nerds may be such smart blokes who can turn every Dell or HP inside out, but they can hardly figure what makes women tick. What don't nerds understand about women? What don't they know? Am curious, any ideas?? angry
Re: What Nerds Don't Know About Women? by omega25red(m): 1:32pm On Apr 14, 2012
We Nerds know everything there is to know about women because we read and learn. the practical application of what we read might be the issue for some nerds

It doesn't matter how many times men read and listen, they will ALWAYS be clueless.

Better put: Why are nerds clueless about women, when indeed they demonstrate such good knowledge of every other thing!?

Truth be told, no-one really understands women. They're hyper-impulsive, and vary like fingerprints.

Who said nerds know nothing about women?
They read and understand women like books.
Practicals is what they aren't good at.

Now the others who aren't nerds are good at practicals. But understanding/trying to figure us out leaves them discombobulated.

Solution? possess half of each and you will live happily.

I would rather argue that women are such complex and sophisticated products of evolution that they can never be fully understood by anyone regardless of whether he is a nerd or not. In this same line, ascribing a title of nerd on one-self shouldn't be used as an excuse to highlight inherent deficiency/inability to fraternize with the opposite sex.

Much as one is irked to discomfort of the "nerd" label and the derivatives of such ascription, let me offer posers why this may appear to be the case. Take the instance of a post-doc research fellow immersed with the formulation or refinement of protocols and procedures, or, the geek, overtaken by the imperative to obtain flawless scripts and codes for a process or system. These individuals, by virtue of their indulgence have become strained, on the concept, education and assurance of viable and verifiable returns from the investment of time in their fields- a grant, an award, a better process, more recognition and self-fulfillment-in so far as compliance with their respective conventions and principles are concerned. Apropos, these constitute, for many, justifiable ends in themselves and means to other ends.

Now encounter the uncharted terrain that the cultivation of amorous “relationships” demands or expects-chance, uncertainty, vagaries that define the human- a source of simultaneous attraction and repulsion, unverifiable complements on the nature or presence of that exercise. Anyone given to the comfort or habituation in the definite would be apprehensive or less excited at the thought of travelling a route filled much unpredictability, with little promise on ROI. Yes, escapism, it may be called, but if you recall that of all primal motivations, self-preservation ranks preponderant, then such preferences can be understood.

Claiming women can't be understood is totally wrong. Irrespective of what the media would have you believe, there are still a handful of alpha males who have well-rounded info about women. Plus, no one really ascribes a nerd title to himself; these things just happen! As we have the cocky male, so do we the timid ones. It's just nature, bro undecided

Good argument. No one achieves much, though, without challenging his/her self-preservation bids!

Re: What Nerds Don't Know About Women? by Man51ut(m): 3:24am On Apr 15, 2012
It depends.

Most of what we think we know about nerds comes from Hollywood. And they choose to show extreme cases of social ineptness.
In reality most nerds will have their own friends and social circles that they feel comfortable with. and they'll prolly meet women there as that's where they feel comfortable. They' probably
have around the same success rate in their circles as the average person.

It's like if you're really into rap and you start hanging out with metal heads. Not everyone is going to be comfortable in such a situation and the women there might not respond to the same game or lyrics you would use on a girl in the rap circle. I went to a school where a guy looking sad with a guitar could get some chicks if he wasn't a comp, ete creep. In uni, I hung out mostly with jamos and I can tell you that they would have laughed at that dude with a guitar.

Also, if you really want to have a really naughty time, hook up with a nerd. Most of them are randy as hell and have seen so much stuff on the Internet they don't even think its anything...

In so far as achievement or success is concerned, I am still persuaded that tangible and verifiable claims remain positive markers-anyways, whatever domains, the individual fancies as attention and risk worthy. And, as rider, very little remains to be learnt, with regards to the physiology of the human, one subject that has proved elusive or tendentious is behavioral patterns and definitions-apparently, room still remains for enthusiasts.

1). Nerds are not always computer experts, some of us are experts in other things.
2). All Nerds like girls, its just that many Nerds are too selective, and with the way girls act nowadays you can't blame us.
3). Don't believe Nerds in Nigeria are like those of America.
4). Everybody wants a Nerd as a friend, if you don't, then you're either smart on your own/not being SMART AT ALL.
5). Don't forget every INTELLIGENT person is a Nerd.
