Your's is a quite pathetic situation. But it's such a 'cruel' world that the so pathetically sounding applicant is the one who is being turned down. Don't try to paint yourself so low hoping you going to get someone's pity. Raise your head up high. You can't afford to be a receptionist. While you wai, see this site for core engineering jobs http://ning.it/HZQ2WP.

@OP, I dont see any reason why you should lower your standard/moral... Though i fully understand how you are feeling and what you might be passing through. <though, not from experience, but from stories and reality>... Taking me for e.g, am equaly a chemical engr, graduated from ESUT in march and waiting for service, hopefully by june. Though right from my third year i started having this strong feeling that getting a job in a chem industry will be dificult after sch, because most of our industries are folding up and getting a job in the major ones that are still striving will be realy challenging as most of them might require who you know or probably a working experience of 3 - 5yrs, which you may not have as a fresh graduate. So what i intend doing now and during my service time is to learn SOFTWARE ENGINEERING cos am sure that path of career is realy growing in nigerian economy. So, you mustn't end up being a chem engr or end up working in a chem industry just becos you read it in school. Try involving yourself in other field, especially in computer/software engineering aspect, it will realy help. My 2cents...Thanks.
