President Umar Musa Yar'Adua, earlier in the day, presented the 2008 Budget to the Joint Session of the National Assembly in Abuja.

The preparation of the 2008 budget, according to the president, was "informed by the need to be disciplined, focused and strategic. We placed emphasis on containing costs so as to enhance value for money," he said.

According to the him, "All the major line Ministries were requested to reappraise in detail their initial proposals, keeping in view the need to strengthen public expenditure management and ensure transparency, accountability and value for money, with emphasis on completing on-going projects," he added.

I don't need to waste my time and read the full speech of the budget,
cos i know it another cake sharing affair.

Our leaders have no conscience, they are going to share trillions of naira.

Wat do u think will happen if the govt say that they wont do anything this year except Bore hole and water provision, repair water boards,
Next year they will do nothing except roads, next year power, next year, health, etc dont you think nigeria will be a batter place.

In a year, how much does you local govt need to get water, roads, power, health care, etc
Last year they budgeted 2.smthin trillion naira and the only change i saw was that our senator and other govt officials built new houses, brought new cars for them selves as wel as for their girl firends
