It is important you read the following article before you date anyone in Nigeria and abroad.

Before You Date Anyone in Nigeria and Abroad

Nigeria is full of very physically attractive young women and young men of all shapes and sizes and many of them are fun seekers in the fast lane of the rat race in pursuit of their happiness and security.

The majority of the pretty and sexy girls come from poor families with parents who are low income earners struggling to make ends meet in the most populous country in Africa where over seventy percent of the population are illiterates. So, the competition for promotion in the social hierarchy is very tough. To find a well bred and chaste young woman here is like looking for a needle in a haystack even though majority of the people claim to be regular church going Christians and mosque going Muslims, yet there is little difference between them and the pagans in their behaviours. Therefore, do not be swayed by their eye service and lip service of being Christians or Muslims, because most of them are hypocrites and desperate opportunists with predatory pursuits. But now, the chickens have come home to roost as over 700, 000 of the youths have HIV/AIDS according to the confirmed reports from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) in April 2012., and that is just one fifth of the total population of people living with HIV in Nigeria.

If over 700, 000 of Nigerian youths have HIV/AIDS, then imagine the dangerous risks of dating anyone of them who will never tell you their HIV/AIDS status, because majority of these hundreds of thousands of Nigerian youths infected with the deadly HIV/AIDS are predatory women between the ages 15 and 32 who would prefer to lie to lure you into their common sex-for-profit relationship. And before you know it, you have contracted HIV from sleeping with them!

Sex Chains of the 700, 000 Youths with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria

The 700, 000 people with HIV/AIDS are in our midst in our communities and are still having sex and spreading the deadly infections of HIV/AIDS in their nonchalant promiscuous relationships of multiple sex partners. The fact is one of them would have had several sex partners and in the sex chains of the 700, 000, over 7 million others would have had sex with those who have had sex with these 700, 000 people from one place to another in every state in Nigeria.

Lucy with HIV/AIDS has slept with Tunde who was ignorant of her HIV/AIDS status and then Tunde has gone ahead to sleep with another person named Bolanle and Bolanle also later slept with Nduka and Nduka would also go on to have sex with Chidinma and Chidinma traveled to Abuja and slept with Captain Kadari and Captain Kadari later had sex with Aisha and Aisha before getting married to Senator Usman Jaji slept with the Youth Corps member Gbinigie from Benin and then Gbinigie the playboy also slept with four different girlfriends who also later had sex with other men and within only two to three years the sex chain of Lucy would have over 100 to 1, 000 different people in the long run. Now from that same sex chain with 1, 000 ignorant victims the figure will continue to increase daily, weekly, monthly and annually and the infections of HIV/AIDS will continue to spread in the vicious circle of just one of the 700, 000 youths with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria. The grave consequences of HIV/AIDS worsen through sex chains of promiscuous young men and young women in our communities.

The calamitous situation is the fact that majority of people are ignorant of the grave consequences of their sex chains and the spread of contagious STDs and HIV/AIDS and other deadly infections like contagious skin diseases.

When we warn people to be disciplined and faithful, it is more about the general health and safety; survival and welfare of humans than about our selfish possessions of a lover or a spouse.
The silliest ones will dismiss the warning and say “Mind your business. It is my life and not yours.”
“Shut up silly ass! It is our business and our life you are endangering by your wayward sex life of promiscuity, because you are spreading your deadly disease by forking and messing around!”

This is the stark reality of the calamity of HIV/AIDS pandemic ravaging humankind. And the ignorance of the majority continues to worsen the prevalence of the infections as the hordes of promiscuous predatory Nigerian babes and guys continue to go on their sexual rampage in Nigeria and abroad. So, before you UnCloth to have sex with anyone of them, think twice before it is too late.

Don't understand the risky behaviour of no condom use or anal sex of todays youth.
With a lot of support from WHO/ UNICEF in the 90's, HIV/AIDS prevalence was beginning a downward trend
In late 90s n early noughties.

All that undone........
Simply irresponsible

Hopefully with social media involvement and contributions from flourishing entertainment industry
, we may yet address aggressively, this public health menace.

This argument lacks substance, proceeding as though every sex.ual episode with an HIV victim results in infection. Plus it makes it look like Nduka, Kunle or whoever does not play safe while going about his/her escapades. undecided

social stigma around HIV/AIDS makes it difficult to openly discuss. With so many young people infected condom use is sooo important. HIV/AIDS is a chronic condition that people can live with if they have access to the proper HIV medications. And if more people are tested and aware and get on medications, this can help with reducing transmission. HIV medications work to suppress the number of copies of the HIV virus in a person's body, making it much more difficult for someone to spread it. Obviously, people will continue to have sex. EDUCATION is key. CONDOM use is key. ACCESS to medications is key.

@OP,
If i read this post right, its premise is that ''if you date and/or have indiscriminate and unprotected se.x with nigerians living in Nigeria, you're most likely to become infected with HIV.'' Now, i dont have any statistics, so as much the post doesn't even give any convincing evidence, i'll take the nobler path and refrain from arguing that. However i find the discordance of this same premise with the TITLE of the same post quite ludicrous - how come the nigerians ABROAD are also included in the title's generalization??
-
Secondly, is there country on earth where having indiscriminate se.x doesn't carry the same consequence? This post gives the impression that Nigeria is unique in that respect, and i find that inference annoyingly petty.

whether they play safe or not this is an exact picture of how hiv spreads silently amongst us. . .
People in general are compelled to use a condom strongly only when they are there pulling down the hot pants of a prostitute or 'the likes'. . .
But I meet a 'nice' girl today and I'm bleeping her 9 times in a week. And we are obsessed with it so we can be absent minded and do it once or twice without a condom or with the condom bursting.
But I dont know what's in this nice girl's blood stream. . .

And that's how it goes.

Op's write-up is just a call to reality to be more careful. That's all

How do you know a "nice" girl? Through her looks? That certainly is a wrong way to look at it. Irrespective of whom you are associating with, it's always important to protect yourself. If everyone did, the incidence of HIV will fall drastically. Well, having said that, the intention is to draw the poster to the insufficiency of his argument. His analysis says nothing about Nigerians abroad, since they may as well possess a different sex.ual characteristic from Nigerians at home. Plus, he has failed to factor in the number of sexcapades that happen with protection and all.
In fact, if HIV spread the way he has delineated, there sure won't be anybody left on this surface again!

Well, men tend to look for excuses like ‘she is nice/good’, ‘we will go raw just this once’ or ‘we have known each other for long’, which is the picture he was trying to paint. (I think)

They say “The se.x impulse is like a fiery horse. Uncontrolled, it may be destructive and dangerous”.
However, it is more difficult to control/protect yourself when an escapade becomes a relationship without both partners going for a test, particularly when you factor in that strong (fiery horse) impulse.

Again, another reason why I feel the rules in the holy books were put in place.

The question remains. How do you establish she's nice. Looks can be deceptive, I hope you understand. While of course I do not advocate indiscriminate sex, I think the option of protection can drastically reduce incidence of HIV. If the OP had factored this in, his argument would be less grisly! undecided

i wont even try to read ur long sermon on HIV. AIDS is real we ve heard, we kw even if some fail to tak it as it is. the issue here is not in a "nice girl" being the carrier of HIV, cos cases are bound when innocence wife would sit in d house playing wife and the husbands would go lukin 4 "side attractions" and bring home d "goodies" , infected men raping girls among others so dont make it sound as if its all and only the nija girls that are "nice girls". if u feel u want to date any girl/guy do yourself a favour both parties should do the HIV test. now speaking from experience u dont want to have Aids, GOD! its like watching ur body parts fall out of ur body one after the ode, body fluid oozing out of every openin in ur body. ITS not a sight to behold cos i cant even find d words to explain it. hw eva being hiv +ive is not d end of the world is a tym to turn to God for solace tak ur drugs and live a normal life, GOD can heal you too. hweva dere are more deadly diseases than HIV AIDS, like lasser fever.

Abstinence, be faithful, and/or use condoms. It's a common-sense triad, which some people do not seem to have. Personally, I have always hated using condoms; so being faithful in a relationship has worked for me thus far. Good luck to those persons who are willing to risk their meagre existence on earth over a brief s-exual encounter with someone they barely know!

You don’t need a complex algorithm to figure out a nice person, but I get your point. Besides that, anyone can be a victim of circumstance, even virgins; all it takes is the prick of an infected needle, due to occupational hazard or a hard drug session.

To prevent a possibly long argument, I agree with you, but you shouldn’t have picked on his example, as it shows how a little carelessness, call it oversight, can lead to a new qualification, HIV +ve. While you obviously see the flaw in the OP’s argument, for the good of the common man, it is better for them to be scared and safe, than sorry.

Need I say more? Ah, yes, they also say “fear is a great motivator”.

tutulicious: hweva dere are more deadly diseases than HIV AIDS, like lasser fever.
Wow, you learn new things every day.

@ OP, not every unprotected sexual intercourse between an infected person and the uninfected leads to an infection with HIV. Infact, most dont.
There are a lot of factors that come into play.
Have you ever wondered why HIV infections are generally higher in female than males?
Have you ever heard of the genotype AC?
Do you know normal healthy humans have a range of immunity levels dependent on their ancestry and environment?

I agree 100% with the op's write up. The reason that hiv\aids is devastating
the African continent somuch is because while the rest of the world were taking pro-actve steps to checkmate the growth of the disease, we Africans,in typcal fashion, were burying our heads in the sand and playing ostrich.
Considering the state of health care delivery in Nigeria, it is obvious that a lot more people are infected with hiv than the statistics would suggest.
i once saw a documentary of how one hiv infected man,an airline steward, touring four different cities, led to the infection of over 40 people within a period of les than a year.
I really dont know what the big fuss is about from Sauer. These scenarios have to painted and deeply imprinted in people's consciouness as much as possible. Its better to err on the side of caution.
