God Uses Problems And Persecution To Inspect You by Nobody: 2:21pm On Apr 27, 2012
When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.” James 1:2-3 NCV

Here is another of five ways God uses problems and persecution in your life: God uses problems and persecution to INSPECT you. An African Christian businessman shares this testimony:

Born in a rich family I was living for earning big money. My businesses were very profitable. All over town people knew me. When God revealed to me the insignificance of money and richness, I accepted Christ after a long struggle. He changed my life. No longer was I running after money but I started sharing what God had done in my life.

After some time, suddenly the police came to our house. Officers carrying guns took me to their office to interrogate me, asking me all kinds of questions, treating me as if I was a criminal. The next day the same thing happened. A lot of soldiers entered my home and stood in every room making my children cry. For over a period of six months they threatened me. Day after day they asked me and threatened me to stop sharing the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every time I responded saying: “No, I am not going to stop sharing about the life I received through Jesus Christ”

After six months they stopped. One man of the security forces told me, “The reason we could not do anything to you is because we couldn’t find any lie in your life.”

A year later, I saw on television the whole group of security men that had intimidated my family and me. They were shivering with fear in front of a judge. The government had changed and those people had to appear before the court because of things they had done. It was as if God told me, “This is what happens with those that oppose you, when you share My words.”

People are like tea bags...if you want to know what’s inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you?

RESPONSE: God is at work in my life—even when I do not recognize it or understand it. It is much easier and more profitable when I cooperate with Him. This is the way to victory!

PRAYER: God may I be found faithful to You through every test.

Could you go into more detail? It is unclear when you say "not recognize"?

Mr fros then how do you differentiate between "God trial" and satan attack?

Did God use slavery to inspect our great great grandparents in Nigeria?

@Frosbel,
Really great word there.

hisblud: Mr fros then how do you differentiate between "God trial" and satan attack?
@Hisblud,
Please let me give a response to your question to Frosbel.
I think sometimes God will permit the devil to 'attack' to try you just like in the book of Job where the devil attacked Job only up to a certain point which was not to take his life. Job 1:12

However God in His intimate mercy and love still helps us by making a way of escape and also ensures we are not tried beyond what we can bear. I Corinthians 10:13.

The trial of our faith works patience and promotes us in the Spirit. James 1:4

I also think that when we sin, we create an avenue for the devil to attack as we ourseles created the crack in the wall through or sin.
Besides the punishment from such sin can be done by the devil. 1 Timothy 1:20; 1 Corinthians 5:5. This is so the persons spirit is saved.

What I am trying to bring out is that the devil is always ready to attack and of the ways we see such attacks is when we allow the devil through sin to get to us and when God allows it as a trial of our faith.

Why would an omniscient god let some one suffer to test him, when he already knows what would happen at the end? Is that really necessary? Isn't that wickedness?

Is a tutsi baby born in Rwanda in 1994, exposed to the elements and left to starve to death by genocidaires being tried by God??

reading your post makes me wonder whether who is greater Sin or Jesus? Christianity harps so much on sin as if Christ did less than adam!

It's whoever one makes great of the two in one's life.
Do you magnify Jesus in your life or sin?

Well Jesus had to come into the world to save us from our sins as He became sin for our sakes and is our advocate in Heaven now, that is why anyone who believes he has no sin will never value Jesus Christ.

Sin is an act of disobeying God. What is the rationale for obeying him??
Re: God Uses Problems And Persecution To Inspect You by emofine2(f): 8:08am On May 08, 2012
The idea of an omniscient god using trials to inspect individuals appears contradictory to “his” alleged attribute. However it would at least sound more plausible if it was claimed that an omniscient god uses trials as a means to develop the individual’s character.
Using trails to “test” us makes us sound like lab rats in a sick experiment. Testing our love, testing our faith...why does an omniscient god need these confirmed if not for vanity? In addition it’s always attached to a reward or a penalty i.e. worship me and I’ll make you to surpass your enemies...if you don’t worship me then such and such plagues will be added unto you.
The irony is, the biggest way god can use to test an individual’s faith and love is to remove the intimidation of heaven and hell.

@frosbel,

sorry sir, your quoted bible verse below 'did not' indict God or 'even mention' God as the cause of our trouble or to test us,
read again pls;

When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.” James 1:2-3 NCV

so how do you come to that conclusion of indicting God when his name was'nt even mentioned,and have not even done your home work on that notion before jumping to conclusion,

How do i mean? God word never contradicts itself,so confirm Gods position on the issue you raised in the same chapter in the same james 1:13;

James 1:13
New Century Version (NCV)
13 When people are tempted, they should not say, "God is tempting me." Evil cannot tempt God, and God himself does not tempt anyone.

Frosbel has abandoned the thread. People have caught up with the nonsense preaching
Re: God Uses Problems And Persecution To Inspect You by Kay17: 12:40pm On May 08, 2012
Its like non believers respect God more than his followers
Re: God Uses Problems And Persecution To Inspect You by BERNIMOORE: 1:46pm On May 08, 2012
infact i was more than shocked when i read the quoted book of james 1:2,3. only to read further verses in the same chpt 1,and the answers was just there in verse 13.
and many out of those who commented underneath could not point out the flaw.

i think our problem in this country is that we have abandoned the 'reading and meditation'culture, thats too bad.

[b]@kay17

Its like non believers respect God more than his followers
Do you know why?
because many follow pastors today,and General overseers who have assumed 'large than life' stature greater than both God and jesus christ, what you see as supreme in churches today is the pastor and the wife, when reffering to the General overseer or their pastors, what you hear is 'what Daddy says' or 'papa' says and not what the bible says, so what they say is final and unchallenged.
read below;
2 tim 4:3
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;4 ]and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

some dont even reasoned that while they are praying they easily 'command God'; 'in jesus name' to do this or that, but fear will not allow them to ask or even tell their pastor that 'i command you to answer my question today' they dare not why,because their pastors has assumed the position greater than God.

'they command' a whole jesus as quickly as possible to do what they cannot even send their houseboy,its a shame that people have been blinded not to feel 'what jesus died for'

when you notice that sign of pastor being too much important, then there is a problem,period!.

I agree with you.
It has created an image of a vengeful god, dangerous (because if you do not punish us love) that distributes rewards and punishments ... (more punishment than prizes) If we are saved from Satan, however we run the risk of god punish us.
It is impossible to end the concept of heaven and hell ... are two premises that just contributes to terror on the one hand, and conformity on the other:
If I do not love God will punish me in hell.
If I have in this life does not matter, then go to heaven ...
It is simplistic, but we do not expect a large elaboration, when the message is addressed to persons of limited scope.
Warm regards dear friend!
