I often wonder why most of d so called agents on nairaland are not direct agents. Most of dem depend solely on the registration form Ʊ will collect frm dem and then the percentage share frm the real agents if eventually Ʊ get a house thru them. Av had encounter wit so many of them via fone in which they will tell me they will have to get the key to apartments frm caretakers but Ʊ will av to fill dia forms first cos dat is. Dway dey do dia business. Just wanna know, why can't direct agents and landlord post properties on nairaland.

Am into agency ..and also free to do some other things that interest me..am a part time agent..I rent houses I got from the owner directly..not those street agent..

@boazic, dont mind them, many of them when called will tell u to pay close to 200K or even more than that as agency, commission and caution fee for a 400K apartment, that's why most of them come to nairaland, repeating the same advert over and over again

The proper channel to go about getting an apartment or letting out an apartment is through genuine registered estate agency.
There are a lot of reasons why you should follow that channel i might not be able to point out now.
Except otherwise the land lord is your relative.

And the registered agency, do they also demand for a 20% agency fee and 20% commission fee on the annual rent from people, If they do, then they are no better than road side agents, afterall, what both of them are looking for is to make money greedily from people looking for apartment.
