Help Me Pray, Holy Spirit’

When my daughter Jessica was little, she woke up one night crying. She was not sick, but would not stop crying even though her mother and I tried to pacify her. I did not know what to do. I went to the restroom, sat on the floor and cried out, “Holy Spirit, You know what is wrong with my child. You know what she needs better than I do, so I yield her to You now.” I started praying in tongues and she stopped crying immediately!

Now, I wish that such instantaneous results are the norm, but they are not. On another occasion, I experienced severe pain from the back of my neck to my shoulders. I prayed for healing, but the pain persisted for quite some time and I was quite concerned.

One night, in my room, I knelt down and prayed, “Holy Spirit, You know this condition. I don’t know what it is, but I am asking You to make perfect prayer against this condition.” I started praying in tongues. I don’t know how long I prayed, maybe an hour or so, until I felt the burden lift. I finally fell asleep, still in pain. But when I woke up, all the pain was gone!

When you are faced with a crisis, you can tell the Holy Spirit, “I don’t know how to pray about this problem. I have done everything I know, but I don’t seem to be getting my breakthrough. Help me pray, Holy Spirit.”

And as you pray in the Spirit, you will feel like there is a prayer going on with¬in you. Flow with it until you feel a release. You will feel peace, the burden lifting and a note of victory inside you. The Holy Spirit will assure you that everything is going to be all right or He will prompt you to do something. Then, you will find that what has been hindering you from receiving your breakthrough is removed, and in its place is the answer you need!

Thought For The Day
When you don’t know what else to do and don’t seem to be getting the breakthrough you need, ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray.

What are recent professed speaking in tongues christians accomplishing with there's??other than sayin in-cohorent words and gibberish that are of no benefit to d listener....

Its all trash today....there's no need for speaking in tongues again.....

All my freinds who speak in tongues today learnt it in a school...

I speak and sing in diverse tongues, I mean mostly full language syllabus. When I received the Holy Spirit in 1998, I constantly question the Spirit asking such question as Who are you and who do you think is Jesus? To confirm what Spirit was operating in me, sometimes when I sing in the Spirit, I ask for interpretation in my native lang. Igbo which He normally sing to my full understanding.

I speak many languages during prayers mostly privately with full syllabus and in my full control. I don't allow it when in pulpit not because it is sin but because there is none to interpret it.

You may not understand if you haven't receive the Holy Spirit or if you received the evil spirit or learned nonsense in you local church or fellowship in the name of being like others

When d apostles spoke in tongues many learnt d truth about God and his son because they heard those words in there own language....

And so speaking in tongues sped up d rate @ which many embraced christianity who weren't jews and who now could here words in there own languages...

Speaking in tongues in modern context is quite foolish. Speaking in tongues in was done in the bible for a specific purpose; it is a sign of prophecy. Paul in the bible said that there should be another person to interpret what the person who is speaking in tongues is saying. How many people that speak in tongues in our Nigerian churches are speaking a real language instead of babbling nonsense?

Hmm! have you considered the corinthian christians that Paul spoke highly as "not carrying last" in the gifts of the Spirit, yet admonished them to do TONGUES orderly however, Paul did not forbade them from speaking in tongues 1 cor 14

I have told u guys a million times what these persons say all in d name of struggling to speak in tongues...
I wrote down d rubbish I hear everyday from churches...

If that is speaking in tongues then I culd as well just go play with a 2yr old child learning how to talk...

Because d main reason y d ability to speak in various tongues were given to d apostles was to preach to people of d nations who weren't jews.....

Like I told d poster and all those thinking they are speaking in tongues,come to interior villages in ijaw areas,itshekiri,tivs,isoko,calabari,ikwere,yoruba,hausa,ogoni,patani, and speak in there tongues to benefit them....

Were the Corinthians not Christians and yet they spoke in tongues and moreover, by implication, i dont see them preaching with it from what i read in 1 cor 14, however that does not stop the Holy Spirit using it to evangelise

That is when I will confirm d usefullness of ur ability as u claim to speak in tongues...

The villages need to hear the truth about Gods word from d bible in there own local dialects...they need speakers of tongues there....make urself useful...

I am a living witness that it is real, not the bla bla type I mean full language syllabus. I received we prayer section in one convention held by Deeper Life in Port Harcourt in 1998.

I can tell you when I sing/pray in English and eventually sometimes the Holy Spirit takes over the song / prayer with a language unknown to me at the initial time I received the gift. I ask for interpretation of the song in any language I choose and thus He sings it immediately with the same tune and rhyme as the song for my understanding.

I confirmed that it was the Holy Spirit and till today it is still real as it was in the bible time.

My point is that the Speaking in tongue that Paul received is the same one I have, confirmed. i can't say of another person.

Did I tell you that I speak in tongue publicly just for the same reason unconfirmed atheist like you quoted, read my previous post. I allow it for my own edification and fulfilment of the Scriptures. Moreover the Holy Spirit in me that is praying on my behalf knows the mind of God hence cannot pray amiss.

You are not more inquisitive than me but God chooses to confound the wise most times if they are willing and truthful in searching for the truth in Jesus Christ.

In 1 corinthians chapter 13 paul helps us see that the ability to speak in tongues will fade away when its purpose its served...

And it has infact faded...because d rubbish I hear many speak attests to that
