Port Harcourt Bus Explosion Was Robbery Not Boko Haram- Governor Rotiimi Amaechi by nairawall: 2:04pm On May 17, 2012
River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has after an on the spot visit to the scene of a bomb blast in Port Harcourt, the River State capital, confirmed that the blast which occurred there earlier today was not a terrorist attack from Boko Haram but a robbery incident gone bad.

Apparently, tow robbery suspects and their driver were on the way to their intended target with some dynamite in the car which went off apparently due to their smoking cigarettes in the car.

Also, Governor Amaechi revealed that the robbery suspects did not die as it was only their driver who was killed in the explosion. Both suspects are now in a hospital where they are under observation.

. Super story! This is bokoharam. Is better you tell people the truth for them to be alert, or the worst might happen.

Poor job Amaechi. Guess people are really following pastors and Chelsea matches abi? Are we that stupid? Armed robbery and bus explosion my az.zz.

Too bad this guy was foisted unto power by a foolish Supreme Court decision years ago, though the people never voted for him.

Like Odili, years have gone and still Port Harcourt is nothing to ride home about, nothing world class there despite all the heavy allocations.

Without expert forensic analysis, it would be well nigh impossible for your common state governor to diagnose the cause of an explosion by inspecting the rubble. To maintain calm, and more importantly to prevent tribe-selective reprisal killings that could spiral out of control, the state governor's advisers quickly cobbled together a cover story to keep tempers calm, and mitigate the alarm that would greet confirmation that Buhari's Islamic Boko Haram terror gang had in fact launched its first ever successful suicide bomb attack in largely Christian southern Nigeria.

The governor's story sounds hurriedly contrived, particularly since it advances the preposterous hypothesis that bank robbers transporting volatile explosives in a car could be foolhardy enough to light up cigarettes en-route. All the same, whether or not this bomb blast was another in the series orchestrated by disgraced former dictator and lifetime election loser Mommod Buhari Bin-Laden, the list of usual suspects should of course be topped by Buhari's Boko Haram terror gang, as investigations continue.
