As a corper serving in Rivers state where it is compulsory that all corpers are sent to the classroom, it's really telling on me that I don't have any business with the classroom. Because I'm not qualified to be there. I think this Nysc needs reformation. Instead of sending people who are not trained for the classroom to class, why not send them to places related to ones field. So that after the one year one can have an experience in his field. I was given a format to make my note and its not funny at all.
I think this is also helping to worsen the already deteriorating educational system.
What's your take on this?

It sums up how not good enough our economy is. If there were more companies available they will be the one requesting for NYSC members to come.

The solution now is for NYSC to set up a mega company of its own with subsidiaries that are into various field. With this NYSC members can apply and learn more of what they have been taught in school. They also get the required experience for the next phase after leaving NYSC

NYSC is about SERVING so you are not just a teacher in a class, but also a motivator, mentor, friend and confidant... the kids can trust you, and I bet you understand them better than the teachers. If you don't give a little back now, you might be throwing stone in the market place... Corper Wii

Poster and the first commenter,you guys are deficient and lacks knowledge of the aim and objective of nysc,nysc is a platform to teach youths patriotism,nysc is all about service to the country,community service and its never a form of internship copers have no business in companies,industries,banks.they should all be deployed to key areas like rural hospitals,schools,villages and wherever humanitarian service is required.
