Its not that I want to spoil their market ooo.
1. They are so expensive. I can get a pretty decent android which will beat some bbs into d ground for half the price.

2. They av really poor applications. I dnt need to talk much on dis, its obvious to iOS nd android users. On top of that, the application memory is jst too low. I so miss my android rite now!!

3. The battery life is nothing to write home about!!!

4. Nowadays, every Tom, Dick nd Harry now owns one. It is so common!!

I can only hope that Nigerians will wake up and accept androids nd iOs as the dominant smartphone brands for the simple reason that they are superior..
I hate all things BB nd I jst can't c any real advamtages!! Unfortunately using a BB for d time being before my android comes back from d repair shop!!!

BS.
Ofcourse u made points but theyr just like 1% of ur writeup.
Bb fones released last year have a good specs - RAM size n cpu speed.
The boot times of olda bb fones is very unaccpetable.
I admit theyr behind ios n android in terms of usability.
I don't understand how I wuld use a fone n not b able to transfer files via bluetooth. (Ios)
Wen talking of the nigerian environment - its beta to pay 3k for unlimited internet than 8k for 5GB for ios n android.
I used to b an app junkie, not anymore, the bb suites me just fine.
N yes its short of apps.
I guess ur gonna tell me u use upto 1% of the apps in the android market.
Connect an android phone to the net 24 like d bb n compare d batt life.

The major attraction to the bb is the unlimited internet, yes somepple use it as a status device which it shudnt b.
Yes its an overpriced device too.

Another Bb bashing thread. They know all the problems of bb/rim but they still enjoy is without complaining.
You guys are just jealous that your Droids can't give such joy/ satisfaction.

My guess is those r third party apps,
Even d smallest nokia fone wit bluetooth has dat feature out of box.
Anyways datz bside d point, internet in naija is poor, rim devices give u greater access @ a cheaper price than u wuld pay if ur using any oda device.
Re: Nigerians And Their BLACKBERRY ADDICTION!! SMH!!!! by Master6(m): 9:03am On May 25, 2012
The only advantage of BBs is UNLIMITED internet access.
That only comes up because our network providers haven't made necessary arrangements for other brands yet.
Btw there is a way of using BIS on androids.

Blackberries just come short of every test thrown at it.
The most annoying thing is how expensive some of these phones are, brand new BOLD 2 is abt 45-50k,and d stats are nowhere compared to an android of thesame price.

It is agreed that iPhones are really overpriced.

I knew it was gonna come to that,
That's wot they always say.
Yet theyr advances in bluetooth tech.
I like apple, they make good devices,
Theyr are a couple of uncomfy restrictions wen it comes to software. If u enjoy d device, fine for you.
We all have diff tastes.

Ur point is mute.
Who's talking abt music transfer?
Most of my bluetooth operations are b/w my fone n pc n r mostly fotos, documents, no need using a cable wen I nid to transfer just one file.
No point arguing dis further, if it was a valid one in the first place, njoy ur device, I like mine just d way it is.

Have you asked yourself why this addiction has been fuelled? Cost of communication in Nigeria is so high, hence the blackberry device range has bridged that gap between staying in communication or going incommunicado.
In the western world, you get free talk -time minutes as much as 3000 minutes a month + option to add more bundles, free sms also as much as 1000 a month, unlimited Internet access all month etc etc etc
Which is why the blackberry devices are losing the fight, but there loss is our gain!!!
Bluetooth option is still very much in use, if you use a blackberry playbook.

yes its true that androuids are more powerful than bbs but not everyone needs a supercar. not everyone can afford supercar fuel (data cost) . I used to think bis was expensive but compared to what I pay on my Droid. its very very cheap. also bbs still handle Push email and notifications better than any other device out there. again, I still haven't found any substitute to bbm. yes there's whatsapp nimbuzz etc but none of them are always on like bbm.bbm can almost completely replace calling and testing cuz everyone is on it and u can be sure that the person u want to talk to at any point in time will be online.. so far they have a subscription. I'm not even a bbm user yet I can list all these advantages. so before you go insulting whoever u pass by carrying a bb you should keep in mind that some nigerians are smart and know what's good for them so they considered all these things before buying their phone. however as for the ones that keep toting their expensive bbs bcuz they believe that it makes them a big boy or big girl.. you're free to abuse. a lot of iPhone users also fall into this category its annoying the rate at which bb porches are being sold.
the bottom line is that everyone is different. because Android works for you (and me too), you don't have to force it down everyone else's throat some people want a powerful device with all the apps, some people want data efficiency while some people just want a fashion accessory
