They are desame...

basically, Grace is God's help i.e help from God that comes through Jesus while Mercy is pity.

Grace-you dont deserve good but you are given.
Mercy-you deserve evil but you are not given.

Grace, which is closer to favour is God empowering a man to do, act or achieve beyond his human capacity. I call it d God factor in d race of life. Mercy on d other hand is God not giving u wat u deserve albeit, negatively. Examples 1. Grace: when God makes ur little eforts translate to more dan ordinary success, u're operating in grace or maybe favour. 2. Mercy: the bible says d soul dat sinneth SHOULD die. But When u sin and God stil spares u its mercy. 3. Favour, a close cousin 2 grace is God giving u good things u do not qualify 4. I.e God taking wat rightly belogs 2 som1 else n giving it 2 u with or without ur own inputs. When u av small inputs, its grace, when u av no inputs at all, its favour. Hope my anology helps. Grace is receiving what we don't deserve. Grace can also mean God's riches at Christ's expense or God's redemption at Christ's expense.

Mercy is not receiving what we deserve.

at one point they may be synonymous

Rom 9:16
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

in another sense they are different. Grace has two sides. theres unmerited aspect. thetes is ability. So Grace can be ability. i.e the working of God, the power of God on the inside but mercy is not.
