oh yeah Proverbs is definitely a nail in the coffin to those, the bible is unreal folks but for me personally ? the book of obadiah, the book of revelation, daniels and deuteronomy are the nails in the coffin. with those books you can build the history of the world without reading a history book. and that is both past, present and future history. its powerful. there is not even an iota of doubt in my mind as to the validity of the bible. i did have an iota of doubt when i followed religion and went to church a few times. but i am happy i overcame that phase. it must suck doing something you dont really enjoy doing out of fear and not for the love of it. i can see why many christians are miserable. a lot of them tow this course out of fear of 'hell fire' and not for the love of the journey. thats a waste of life if you ask me

2)Corinthians
women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. ( hot Sexism and unfair treatment of women 1 corinthians 14;34)

3)Matthew
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

Buzugeee, I am scared of you! Sometimes, you could be the most rational christian on Nairaland who can see the problems with modern christianity and sometimes, you could be a mad interpreter of the bible.

At least, you were able to overcome and see the failure of organised religion

yup the slaves were to come from the gentiles because the gentiles were not equally yoked with the jews under the law and hence were barbarians and savages. they had no laws and hence where there is no law there is no trangression ( romans 4 vs 15 ). however with the death of christ to continue the law that will pull the gentiles into partnership with the jews under the law, all that unequal treatment stopped.

women should remain silent in church. i dont really see the big deal in that, women are very emotional and the lord does not deal with emotions. he deals with wisdom and understanding. not saying women dont have wisdom and understanding but it can get clouded by emotions a lot of times. try being led by an emotional person. its like the blind leading the blind. no desrespek to the women out there but it is what it .

i will answer the rest but i know you are not looking for answers. just to cause strife

LOL its nothing to be scared off. i would hope i am rational in my dealings as a person but not as a christian. the word 'christian' a lot of people dont know it is a derogatory word. its like a racial slur. this is what the gentiles and apostates used to call those who followed christ in jest. i think this first started in corinth. its like me being a big follower and supporter of jonathan and people laugh at me and call me a jonathanee or something like that. so i aint no christian. and secondly, i dont interpret the bible wrongly. the people on here ( not all ) are the ones who interpret it wrongly. a lot of people from the way they interpret the bible on nairaland, you can tell they are heavily into that church doctrine.

There aint no slaves no more under christs law.......

We are all equal in Gods sight now thru d death of Jesus........

Read galatians 3:26-28

And d reason why women are to keep silent in d congregation isn't because they are oppressed or because they are slaves......

This is d simple reason......

Let's read 1timothy 2:11-13......

Its simply Gods arrangement of headship for things to go on decently and by order......

remember this biblical hierarchy @ 1 corinthians 11:3?

OH YEAH LET ME ANSWER THE LAST PART OF THE QUESTION-so Jesus being on earth was for the main purpose of uniting the jews and gentiles as one under the law. see when Jesus was on earth, the canaanite woman had no laws. she was basically a savage who could do whatever she wanted and not get punished for it, which they mostly did because the actions of the gentiles was one of pure unadulterated savagery. i mean antiochus epiphanes was cutting jews di-cks off and boiling jews in hot oil and throwing them off mountain cliffs etc etc. these gentiles were savages with no laws and no punishment. so this is why Jesus came on earth. a lot of people think Jesus came to die for their sins. He only came to die to atone for the sins of the israelites so that God can continue working through them ( as he only works with his first born children, the israelites )even in their spiritual death ( the wages of sin is spiritul death ) to bring out the laws and new convenant that would commit the gentiles. this way there sins can then be punished. see no laws means you cant sin, and no sin means you cant be punished ( romans 4 vs 15 )

i say all that to say that the gentile woman, the canaanite woman was not why he came hence why he told her i have come to the lost sheep of the house of israel. its called priority. the womans daughter is of no concern. she is a filthy demonic heathen with no laws. sounds harsh but it is what it is. now after the laws have roped in the gentiles, then the womans daughter can then call on the name of the lord and then heal herself by obeying his commands. its just that simple.

very well said. from egypt slavery to babylonian to persian / medes to assyrian to north american slavery. heck we been in slavery for over 2000 years. these heathens aint seen nothing yet. their time of slavery is coming up next in the kingdom ( revelations 13 vs 10 ) He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity THATS A FUTURE PROPHESY THAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN ESTABLISHED ON EARTH. YES I KNOW YALL THINK I AM CRAZY BUT THERE WILL BE HUMANE SLAVERY IN HEAVEN. ALL THOSE WHO HAVE HAD ISRAEL IN CAPTIVITY WILL GO INTO CAPTIVITY IN THE KINGDOM. IT WILL BE THEIR PUNISHMENT FOR REJECTING GOD AFTER THEY GOT ROPED IN WITH THE JEWS UNDER THE LAW. THE JEWS PAID FOR REJECTING GOD WHEN THEY HAD THE LAW, HENCE THE OVER 2000 YEAR SLAVERY. NOW THE GENTILES WHO REJECT GOD WILL HAVE TO DO THEIR TURN OF SLAVERY FOR REJECTING GOD. THIS THEY WILL DO IN MORE HUMANE CONDITIONS THAN WE DID BECAUSE THEIR SLAVERY WILL BE DONE IN A RIGHTEOUS KINGDOM.

well when Paul was on earth the laws that roped in the gentiles was still being written. As such the gentiles were still savages towards the jews. the jews were the slaves at this point under the gentiles. its a self preservation statement. obey your masters so that they dont harm or kill you. its basically 'rendering unto caesar what is caesars' . the jews were in slavery for a good reason, they disobeyed God, and as such they have to do their punishment and penance with dignity. paul may as well have been saying ' take your punishment like a man ' because this is synonymous with ' slaves obey your masters ' the lord put those masters over you for punishment. now you have to serve your punishment diligently. its just as simple as that. he wasnt justyfing slavery. trying to get israel to do their 'jail time' diligently.

Exactly buzugeee..........

Paul must have even been in shackles when he wrote those words.......

Infact like we both agree its Gods people who have been d slaves all along.........

And then paul even went further to help us see reasons why we shuld obey d higher authorities.....

Those words carry d same meaning with slaves obey ur master.....

But ofcus we must obey Yahweh as ruler rather than men........

Balance is all what paul was emphasizing.....

I don't particularly have favourites...just those I'm quite intrigued by. I find Revelations to be an interesting book...another mention would be Daniel.

1) It is God's people that have been slave masters all along. Christian Europeans, Biblical Isrealites, Arab muslims etc

2) Apostle Paul is a fool by todays standards. He wrote that omen should be silent and submissive in church and he wrote that slaves should obey their masters. Why should we obey higher authority without question? So your forefathers should have remained in slavery in America and Europe? We should be obedient to dictactors like Hitler and Gaddafi? This is why secular countries of today are always better than religious or non-secular ones- in secular countries, the people protect their rights to protest and free speech against the government.
