Many deeper lifers I know have since left some sadly have backsliden after they could not keep up with the rules and regulations.

I remember back when I was a kid ,Kumuyi called the Television the devils box and the sure sign of being a deeper lifer was to bring out your TV and smash it on the street ,a few years after Kumuyi started preaching on TV.

@ Christiana,you and I both know that a born again Christian in deeper life who doesn't tie her hair up and wears make up and jewelry would never become a church worker,teach Bible study or even be taken seriously in deeper life and would always be seen as an outsider needing conversion just by outward appearance.
let's not split hairs,I've been to deeper several times even in London and USA.
The pastor of one of the branches is a dear friend.

Man looks at the outward but God looks at the heart if not so,David could have had no chance at being annointed King of Israel.

As a younger Christian,deeper life style did not appeal to me too,the women looked haggard and miserable(looked,I say).

No wonder the youths are leaving the Church especially if the church has to choose you a spouse as Gods will for you.

Back to the deodorant issue,I worked with a deeper lifer than did not wear deodorant because it was not of God,a fellow Nigerian,I was so embarrased of all the things the co workers said when she was away and I as a fellow Christian could not offer a word to defend her 'religious' stand on this.

Some of these doctrines are not good.
Could cost someone a job and alienate you from people.

I do not dislike the church,I'm only saying that those rules and regulations have chased the younger generation away.
Many mothers and fathers in deeper life have their older Christian children in other churches without the strict rules.
I still go to deeper life when I'm in the area but I know they would never see me as a real member without the dress code.
I love all Bible believing Chriistians,the world will know us by our love.

Many people came to judgment seat , to judged the church on bases of hath they preach and teach and yet what those people think themselves , I don't know if they read bible at all to see that God said that you should remember the Lord you in days of your youth and if you are a CHRISTIAN , you must not live for yourself but for God . You will agree that there is alot of evil on Tv and and you must know that for a pastor that have taught the word will never want his followers to be desroyed by the Indecency on TV. You did not have religious acces Tv and people in control of the signals probably dont care about your love for God.

The Issue of Body Odour is one that is clear and simple there is perfumes in the soap we use and this is for refreshing the bad odour of the previous day is rplaced by the perfume in the soap. The harder perfumes is what is not good because it is choking and does not enhance your naturilty rather it shuts you out.

Imagine if everyone was using Isimayaki 212 or other strong perfume in a room what would be the end result. You can use body spray or deodouriser so that will you not offend of the Air. However you cannot over do it. If you have a bad smell be you deeperlifer or not I will not be comfortable with you.

There are various Issue and we should look and let the lord help us.

as much as i agree with you concerning most of the programmes or films being a bad influence to children.i don't agree with you on the television and internet being evil,i believe your little sister being spoilt has nothing to do with the television but has everything to do with you people's negligence.you could learn to control and choose the kind of programmes or films your younger sister should watch and should not watch.everything has to do with how well you control and are involved in a child's life.

A church without the good sheperd will be destroyed by wolf in sheeps clothing. The Church of God will March on and The gates of hell cannot prevail. You and I know that some things that happen in the churches that practice nudity or allow it have problems that cannot be mentioned. It does however mean that this does not happen in Deeperlife.

The doctrine I received in deeperlife is from the Bible and I have seen the light in it even though I dont attend it now. I personally have seen things that the Holy spirit has shown me and that I need not be deeperlife to know. I know in the USA for instance that majority of AFRICAN AMERICAN love Tv and most of the black are Unconsciously or consciously try to be White.

You will Agree with me that we have an Identity Problem because there is no Perfect Black man in the media which is a creation of man, this doesnt mean that it is wrong but we are creating PS2 and TV CHILDREN that are selfish and dont care about other people.

I just feel I should put in my own nickle in this discussion. I live in the USA and I've been a member of Deeper Life since 1989. I must confess I left the church a couple of times complaining of these same restrictions that everyone talks about. But you know what? I keep coming back to the church. You know why? Because Deeper Life is one of it's kind. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying Deeper Life is the only good church. On the contrary. But Deeper Life is a church that is very true to the Bible in every way. They may go to extremes in some areas, but I know that what they teach is true.

Thank God for Pastor Kumuyi. I have watched him over the years and listen to his messages. He is very consistent in his beliefs and teachings. Yes he is a man. But he was young once too. He knows what youths go through when it comes to sex and wanting to be free to do whatever they want. But at the same time we need to teach these youths what it means to be Christians, and also to know what the world has become. If you are a Christian you know that these are the end times and we should be careful. We all have been youths once and thank God for most of our parents and those of us that were "lucky" enough to have had the opportunity to hear the word of God on a constant basis back then. So you know how tough is was been a youth.

As for the way the women dress. Well, look at Sister Kumuyi. She's very neat and well dressed. As for the other sisters who dress the way they do, the church did not tell them to look that way. Women Mirror always teaches how women should take care of themselves and their household. You can still dress well and yet be conservative. A woman can were a very nice suit and still be a Christian.

Well, I've lived in America for about twenty three years now and yes, I don't like the way those sisters dress at home in Nigeria. I believe every man will like for his wife to look good without dressing worldly. God bless. "LET EVERYTHING BE DONE DECENTLY AND THE IN ORDER. THE LORD IS AT HAND".

If you are, as long as you are going to a Bible believing Church; that is the most important thing. But, let's watch how we talk about the men of God. They are God's anointed.

Relax Its not the man of God that matters it his message. Deeper Life I learnt alot of scriptural doctrine and I can say that you cant sit under the preaching of Bro Kumuyi and just continue in life of sin.

you must know how ever the youths or even all other age limits will leave because of so many reasons they will not want to live a holy life inwardly and outwardly.

I have been listening to other preachers and Bro Kumuyi is in the league of these preachers they have been battered over the century if you read about A .W Tozer, David Wilkerson, William P. Nicholson, Paris Reidman, Leonard Ravenhill, Richard Owen Roberts etc.

I believe we're probably saying the same thing, or rather, on the same side. After reading a lot of what people are saying, I just think some of the writers should be careful in the way they tailor their criticism. If you read what I first wrote the first time, I agreed with the fact that Deeper Life has a set of rules that are too hard for even some adults to follow, talk less of youths.

The fact is as much as people like me complain I still remain in the church because what I hear there has so much germinated in me that those same rules don't even bother me much. As for the youths, as long as what has been implanted in them from the beginning remains in them, whereever they are they will always know the truth. The truth will always 'make them free". But as for those who believe wearing mini skirts and exposing their bodies is the life, well, what can one say? It's their bodies and their lives.

Anyway have attended deeper Life Bible Church Before becos my aunt was a member.
That Church felt like jail, i will never advice anyone to go there.

No earings, tieing scalf[even on weddin day], no cutting of cakes, don't wear laces, don't watch tv,
