Hello everyone,

Ȋ just got a Golf 4 from cotonou. Had leaking silencer so Ȋ went to τ̣̣ђё mech's to have it welded. They told me that τ̣̣ђё pot meant to be in d middle has been removed and replaced with a pipe. Ȋ will like to know if that is a reason d car consumes a lil more than it should. Ȋ heard Golfs are very fuel economical is why Ȋ bought it. its a 5 cylinder engine.

Is this pot suppose to be the catalytic converter? If it has been removed, yes your fuel consumption would be higher.

I think he mntiond that it is the part o the pot that has the catalyst. So my question now is how do i know which pot still has the catalytic thingy when i want to buy it from the spare part pple. Because i hear that the catalytic thing is kinda treasured by these pple, tht they could remove it.

Boss thnks a lot for your contribution also. looking under the car, there are already 2 pots, my mech said that there is meant to be a third one. that the golf 3 has 3 as well, talk more of my golf 4 that has 5 cylinders. So please help with more info.
