42 months is equal to 1260 years

”I have given you a day for a year." Ezekiel 4:6



The legally recognized supremacy of the pope began in 538 A.D. when there went into effect a decree of Emperor Justinian, making the bishop of Rome head over all the churches, definer of doctrine and corrector of heretics.



Labanca, professor of history in the University of Rome says, “To the succession of the Ceasars came the succession of the Pontiffs in Rome. When Constantine left Rome, he gave his seat to the Pontiff.”



This is when this ecclesiastical system became a political entity, or in biblical terms, a beast (538 A, D.)





538 A.D. <-----1260 yrs ------> 1798 A.D

", and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God"

“And I saw one of his heads as if it were wounded to death.” Rev 13:3



In 1798 the religio/political system received a death wound. This was the first time in over 1000 years that the Papacy did not exist as sovereign political entity.

“And I saw one of his heads as if it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” Rev. 13:3



In 1929, the Lateran Treaty re-established the papal government as an autonomous state affirming "the sovereignty of the Holy See in international matters as an inherent attribute in conformity with its traditions and the requirements of its mission to the world" as stated in the Lateran Concordat , article II. More than a political gesture, this was a restoration of the political supremacy and international influence held by the papacy throughout the 1260 years following the the decree of Justinian in 538.

1798 A.D. <----- 'wound is healing' ------> present

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (vs.4)



So it looks like Rev 13 is right so far.
