Today in Nigeria many christians use d terms orthodox church n penticostal church. The question is where did they get this distinctions from. From d bible? Jesus or any of d apostles? Certainly not, for Christ said; I will build my church.....Mat 16:16, note, He did not say, 'I Will build my orthodox n or penticostal church(es). I will leave d word orthodox n how it comes into d church out for now n concentrate on penticostal(ism). The words penticostal(ism) comes from d word penticost, which means "fifty" and it is one of d important feasts (feast of weeks or seven sabbaths) in Hebrew calender. Lev23:15-16. HOW DID IT COMES INTO CHRISTIANHTY. Now this is a feast that has been celebrated since d advent of mosaic laws tro out d old testament, during Chrirt n d apostles time till now. Acts20:16, this means that penticost was not an event but a recurent traditional festival/celebration embeded in Hebrew culture. Just like we have new yam festivals, fishing festivals etc in various cultures in Nigeria. Now it was on d day of celebrating one of d penticosts that d believers recieved d Holy Spirit. Act 2:1-4. Note d believers where not part of d celebration outside or downstairs because they were in upper room. Acts1:13. So d real ppl to b called "penticostals" should b those outside drinking, eating n dancing not ppl who where hiding inside n pray ing to God. We have a new yam festival in d central Cross River called "LEBOKU" Now assuming on d day of Leboku festival a church or a group of believers in Ugeb (a community in Yakurr LGA) decided not to join d festival but to gather somewhere n pray for n recieve a particular thing will you call them (the believers) LEBOKU ppl? Certainly not.That is the same scenario we have in this "penticost" thing. Those who were actually celebrating penticost outside were d real penticostals n not d believers who were praying inside eventhough coincidentally on penticost day. It has nothing to do with christianity n there is NOTHING LIKE PENTICOSTAL CHURCH. This knowledge is very important for us as a starting point to overcome the division, d lack of unity,lack of love n mutual distrust in d body of Christ. Now there r many behaviours n somethings that happen 2day in d so called penticostal churches, methink its because of this false name "penticostal" that they v ignorantly given to themselves. Names matter, we all know that, that was y God change ppl names in d bible, Abram(assumed father) to Abraham(father of many nations), Jacob(suplanter) to Isreal(prince, one who strive with God), SAUL to Paul etc. NAMES certainly have some powerful influence that will predispose ppl to a particular type of behaviours, how else can we explain behaviours like pastors/ members going to church with charms, daggers/knife, pistles, pastors/members sleeping with mother n daughter, stealing church money, 419 of all shades n colours, ambushing n actually killing for position etc. Go to festivals u wil see all these n more in one form or th other. It is a spirit, penticostal party spirit that has taken over these churches. This spirit also make them hateful, pompous, greedy,discriminatory, selfish etc. Check maybe dat show of shame in church (PFN) is caused by penticostal spirit.

There is also nothing like Christ Embassy church. Christ Embassy is just one of the hundreds of protestant churches that can trace their origin to a man or men.

The catholic church can trace their origin back to the first century. Can you do that with your Christ Embassy?
