Very good question. Watch this video and see how two different muslims approach this issue;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znH7ElGjmck

The video shows people debating religion/islam. The woman is criticising Muhammed on Aisha. One muslim is trying to debate while another in the crowd was ready to fight.

What would you do? Debate, fight, put Jihad, try to explain?

Stills (pics) from the video;

The calm debater;

i have previously watched that video.the man ready to fight is salafist/wahhabi.

naturally,i do not blame him for his reaction.in such situation not everyone can control his emotions or follow what the Quran says.he is a human being and he is reacting to being provoked with anger.it was an individual incident of rage.also,not everyone has the knowledge to put forward and enlighten others.it is the duty of those among Muslims who know and the scholars to spread information and educate muslims and non-muslims alike.that women was not criticizing.she was being offensive and rude.and she was doing it deliberately.

if i were the one there and she was talking about Aisha's age,i would present the facts in the below thread and prove Aisha was not underage:

"Tell me why Mohammed married a young Aisha?":
https://www.nairaland.com/846958/tell-me-why-mohammed-married

but if she persists and continue being rude,then i would excuse myself.and this is what the Quran says:

Holy Quran 6:68
"And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversion. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people".

to put it short,it all depends on the situation,place and time.if a discussion is called to discuss honestly and people want to hear (even if they are critical) then i would take part to spread knowledge and put out ignorance.but if it is meant to mock,insult and provoke me and Islam,then i'd rather not be a part to that.

^A trend is emerging with the two of you.

Cheers01: What do you think about this?
LagosShia: It is only Wahabis/Salafists that do this.

Funny but seriously the two of you you need to "move ahead".

Mac,

seriously you need to look beyond your nose.it is unfair when you refuse to tackle certain issues and topics (and you do not want to read about) but you want to criticize others for saying the obvious and plain truth.the guy in the audience is salafist.and i did not even condemn him but defended him and explained what i would do and presented a verse from the Quran.stop derailing threads you do not want to take part in by lauching personal attacks.

you are now giving yourself a bad image and honestly making me feel bad about you.

see your contributions in the below threads.you either not comment and ignore the thread or you try to derail it.you are derailing the threads.and if logicboy got banned because he derails threads on religion,then you too deserves to be banned.lets say it as it is.

At least, LagosShia tries to answer the question. You on the other hand mock and ironically derail threads.

If I start mocking now, you would be the first to ban me without any hesitation or notification. The MACdaddy! Na you be boss!

fellis doesn't look like an extremist or a wahhabi sympathizer.his posts in the "tomato thread" is evident to that:

I am simply a Muslim and I follow the teachings of the Qur'an.
Please, no offence, I love you guys but I don't really fancy all these divisions. sad
Can't I just be a Muslim without belonging to any sect? Again, much love, no offence.

we cannot change the reality.the division is over 1400 years old.it will only end when the Mahdi and Jesus (as) come and muslims and humanity at learge would be united under divine rule.

but it difficult for you not to belong somewhere even if you recognize yourself as Muslim as we all do and are Muslims.

PS:It is difficult when you have misguided muslims with ideologies like the salafist one contradicting the Quran who still claim to be Muslims.so how do you separate what is right and what is not?and where do you belong to?

here lies the problem:hypocrisy!

Mac,at least i can describe him as a wahhabi sympathizer also playing the trick of hiding behind "Muslim only" and false unity.when wahhabis butcher Shia Muslims for being "heretics",where is the unity if you are not a side to the problem and you are Muslim only?what is responsible for the terror brainwashing and violent ideology? Islam? the Quran as non-muslims misunderstand? not my Quran and not my Islam.a spade must be called a spade.when you got an ideology that is un-Islamic,it must be exposed or else the religion itself carries the blame.

since ive known Mac not once has he condemned or opposed the wahhabi terrorism and extremism or even their ridiculous fatwas like saying tomatoes are christian and women should not come close to cucumbers.

who is fooling who?

Holy Quran 49:9
"And if two groups of Muslims fight against each other, reconcile them; and if one of them oppresses the other, fight against the oppressor till it returns to the command of Allah; then if it returns, reconcile between them with justice, and be fair; indeed Allah loves the equitable".

I think people react differently generally, some will act the way the Qur'an says, I summarize as follows "when you see the signs of Allah being mock leave the place till they change their conversation . . ." Hence what I expected the man to do was simply walk away, no be by force!

I think the OP should actually review his rationale for starting the thread, cause even a child knows we humans are emotive, from the hilarious to the bizarre we have heard of how the on very trivial issues like football (arsenal vs man u) people get stab, and evem rioting. The issue stretch even to politics where political argument recently led a greek lawmaker assaulting another a female, so it is more of a person "failure", it is human people loose their cool (not watch the video but the guy really messed up attempting to hit a lady?) A lot even people you know normally would not behave angrily can atimes loose it and turn maniac on u, even lagosshia who apparently has "forgotten" his past display of crude"ility" like when he insult frosbel father and mother and even called him a bastar+d, in addition to calling platvlle (can recall her name) very ungodly names, all this happened when he was still a shia (don't know whether he had been a wahabi- to clarify wahabi is not synonimous to salafi, wahabi is a movement within salafi) I even have video of how a shia loose his temper to simple questions asked about his faith, to me this sort of behavior is comic indeed, which reminds me of how often lagosshia results to cursing and calling on Ali whenever the faulty logics of shias is exposed, and even on NL we witness how atheist all get emotive whenever questions like being an atheist out of furstration is asked, reminding me of the thread I started on the film the rite, no atheist in the thread could even provide a sensible response some response amounted to serious infringement on the laws of logic. Even our christians brothers and sisters go emotive over issues concerning their faith.

My point, people often react with emotions and this sometime can almost get ugly. It requires wisdom and common sense to communicate our points of view and off course one also too can present his points in any manner he deems fit, civility begets civility.

Mr Vedaxcool,

Yes, humans get emotive no doubt and people react differently. So, I 100% agree.

However, can you guess why I like this video? You were wondering why I made a thread about the video.

Because, I was emotional after the video!

I couldnt stop laughing because she was saying a harsh truth that many people close their ears to. The other funny part was the other guy who jumped up like a monkey because he couldnt take it. In the UK or USA, the guy would have been thrown out by security within 10 seconds
