The percentage of openly gay folks is increasing simply because they are coming out of the closet. This does not imply that the total population of gays is increasing. In more oppressive societies, there may be no openly gays, but this does not imply that there are none.

When gay marriage was legalised in New York early this year, I saw 2 female couples (lesbos) and their lil kid of about 6 years and when the kid was interviewed about his view on it, he was quick to say that people should be free to marry anyone they love, male or female, and blah blah blah. That kid will prolly (most likely) grow up chasing after boys like himself and just imagine a whole new generation with that kind of mindset. Its scary to think of a future with so many disoriented people.

You only supported omo to dun's post by implying that people are more open-minded and more likely to display their sexuality in public places. Just because they keep "it" hidden does not imply that there are low numbers of them. The number of homosexualities is not "increasing" persay, these ppl are already homosexuals emotionally, but just forbidden to physically display it.

pufectskin: To those of you that are homophobic; no amount of hatred or punishment would make homosexuality go away, I am afraid. Homosexuality is as old as your great great great grand parents. The only reason why it appears new is because there is because societies like America encourage openness and self expression and there is also the technology for societies to access information.
I have a great-grand uncle who never got married (if he were still alive, he'll be 113yrs old this year); my mum said he was extremely neat, dashing, and d mist well dressed man she ever knew. He always said he couldn't stand women. I told my mum he was gay but because of the times he lived in, he couldn't come out.
In my opinion, societies are better off if they allow this people come out so that we all know who we are dealing with.
