The Acura RL is a wonderful car, very stable and reliable. It is a luxury version of an honda. It uses parts similar to the honda, thus you can be assured that the parts are available. In terms of maintenance, the owner should be comfortable enough to do the regular maintenance as at when due and ensure any strange sounds are investigated asap, however, it is important to mention that its parts would be a little expensive than the honda due to its luxury nature but not so much as to tear your pocket, just ok. In terms of durability, this applies to all cars, if you treat a car rite, it stays old with you, with regular check-ups and good maintenance, it would definitely last.
However , the fuel usage/economy , I must say would likely be more than an average V6 as it also has a 3.5 litre engine and is heavy by all standards but gives you the required stability and power on the move.
I used to drive the Acura 3.2tl and enjoyed every bit of it , I only sold it cos i wanted to drive something different and my friend who I sold it to is still enjoying it till today.

Acura RL is POSSIBLY the best kept secret in the Luxury Auto world. Its very agile, smooth as silk and reliable.

Just make sure you keep up with the maintenance without hesitation. It won't ask for much either.

The 97/98 model is a first generation RL that ended in 2004. It is no doubt a big and luxurious car, but the performance will hold you in awe as to its brilliance, swiftness and handling. Don't let the size (3.5 L) of the engine deceive you o, it has a very good fuel economy that can match that of many I4 engines even though it comes standard with a V6. A friend of mine used to have the car and I enjoyed it like hell every time I had a go at it. The engine is superb and it is not fraught with tranny issues, unlike other Acuras. As per pricing, it may range from around N950,000.00 - N1,400,000.00 depending on the condition of the car.

Acuras are usually more expensive than corresponding Hondas of the same year. Moreover, it is luxury all through and would most definately be a bit off-handish pricewise no matter the model year.

though i ve the mdx,but i love my acura rl 3.5
Speaking from what i ve xperienced for 4yrs,ur friend aint makin a rong move.
mine is still xtremely clean n sound.
and i stand to be corrected,i tink its one of the best if not the best looking sedan of its age in the world.has functions the 2004 eod n camry cant dream of.

n.b:the toks of that car aint as expensive as sombody puts it above.a prfectly clean toks should be less than a mil
900-950max.can even be a lil bit lower as most peeps are skeptical abt the car.

You said uve been using it for 4 years, how do u maintain and service it, do u have a reliable and affordable mechanic in Lagos, cos most of these mechanics are so unreliable and often want to make more than the owner of car on repairs. Thx
