The NYSC Coordinator in Katsina State, Ebenezer Afolalu, said on Wednesday that a female corps member delivered a baby girl at the orientation camp in Katsina.

Mr. Afolalu said this in Katsina, during the opening ceremony of the 2012 orientation course for batch B NYSC members deployed to the state.

The coordinator, who refused to disclose the name and state of the corps member, said that the lady delivered on the first day of registration, at the camp clinic.

Women are mandated to undergo pregnancy tests during Camp registration however, the cut corners.. Some girls will have other girls piss for them just to pass the litmus test.. I wonder why a mother will risk both her life and her babies to be in camp.. I remember during my time, some soldiers approached me and introduced me to two army officers wives who were nursing and asked me to cover for them since I was Platoon Leader. They were even willing to pay.. I simply took their numbers and told them I would call them if anything pops up wiithout collecting a dime.. Meanwhile, my fellow Platoon leaders, made a killing from Nursing mothers and Female corp members that thought the Platoon leaders had the ability to influence postings..


Dont blame the NYSC for anything more than poor screening... Blame the pregnant corp members for exploiting this weakness in the NYSC process and risking their lives as well.

instead of the foolish officials to send them home, they will take a bribe and look away.

i wonder why they even go to camp, to do what, watch movies? i blame the mumu husbands sha. how can my pregnant wife go to a nigerian NYSC camp, have you seen the living conditions in those places?

Most of them do not go there to participate in Camp activities; they go there to obtain Permits excusing them from participation.

She has served the country well.

This was a very risky gamble. She did not even consider her life simply because of the paltry sum she is going to get. How come her husband/parent allowed her to go when they know her condition? I guess people would have been castigating NYSC if otherwise had happened. I still blame NYSC officials for allowing her into the camp anyway because the scheme does not allow pregnant or nursing mothers to enroll for camping.

A freind of mine lost her 4months old pregnancy, it wasnt showing cos she was huge and she managed it well. it was during the endurance and man o war crusade she felt heavy and dizziness. she was actually active than non-pregnant lazy bones. we tot she was always vomitting becos of the environment. until she complained she feels like sitting and her tummy is really rumbling. we made her sit gave her some cold water to drink and she felt good.
by the time she stood the whole floor was filled with thick blood, one of us passed out immdiately while this gal was confused.
im just telling the story for you to know how some wants the exercise badly and some wants the certificate.

Because only her name and educational details are sent to NYSC office, and not records of her s$exual activities!

Gone are the days Corp members are mandated to undergo pregnancy tests. A pregnant corp member is always given preferential treatments and can be redeployed to where her husband resides, provided she has a wedding certificate.
They only need to come to orientation camps for registrations.
They are not allowed to participate in the drills.

NYSC was effective when only young and agile graduates are permitted to serve not now that married women covers 92% in service. You either see them with Big stomarch or kids.
