For me:

1. Stationary bike
2. Treadmill
3. Squat rack

(unfortunately, I'll have to do a lot of (1), since my left knee has been giving me trouble the past few weeks sad )

I can't stand biking or the treadmill. I get really bored.

And I hate the squat rack because if you aren't super, super careful, you can mess up your back. And it is really boring. Not fun like bench presses, curls, etc are.

Sorry, I have a contradictory answer to your question. I LOVE all the exercises at the gym. If your goal is to lose weight or perform a therapy of some sort, I would advise approaching the gym with a positive mind – not hating any form of exercise because they are all there to help us. No pain, no gain. Some of the exercises truly hurt physically and/or mentally. The ones that hurt physically should be taken on slowly and the ones that hurt mentally should be mitigated with staring at a TV screen or armed with some type of mobile device that can render an audio book or music.

Abs Crunch exercise is a lil harder for me though but I usually get through it.

I love treadmill , I can get up to speed 7.0 inclined at almost 15 deg, love to work out a sweat.

Every thread start by ekt_bear makes the front page, either relevant or not, but most time irrelevant.. Don't get me wrong, OP is among the few I respect here on NL, cos of his intelligence & exposure, but most thread he starts sometimes can be so neausating...
I first saw this thread earlier this morning, wanted to make a comment 'THIS WILL BE SOON BE ON THE HOME PAGE' but I gave the moderator a benefit of doubt... And here we are

Running on the treadmills, I always feel like I'm going to fall off.

Sit ups, pull ups and all the other ups.

I like the stationary bikes, feels safer.

Treadmill is not that hard, perhaps you start out with more than avg speed. You need to be trained on the treadmill, else the nauseating feeling and why you hate it.

I don't have any nauseating feeling. I still go on it.
It's just that the fear of falling is all in my mind, I fear jogging too far back and too far forward.

Squat with a good techinque, and you wnt wreck your back. Also try it using a squat rack.

Why would you fear of falling, have you ever fallen b4? I have, after that day, I learned my lesson. What are your settings when you're on it?

I can be on a tread for about 45mins to an hr, the reason is because I'm an avid runner though I still lift and do upper body exercise. I have to train my lower body to maximum speed (abt 5.5mpm), while the inclination is for terrain purpose, to simulate different hill environ. Yes I do sweat, but it's for a purpose.

I start out with 3 gradually make my way through to 4, then 5, get worked up, go into 6 (incline abt 9deg), 6.5(inclines about 12 deg), the increase speed to 7, now, I've been on the machine for at least 30mins. My heart rate is start going up and all full of energy. Although I'm VERY CAUTIOUS not allow sweat wet my hands to avoid accident. If I want to clean up, I simply reduce speed, clean up and then continue again. I love my routine.

I've fallen off before, but only because I was in a hot conversation. I got distracted. Never again.
I have a fear of heights. Treadmills only make it worse, to be moving high (even if it's 1ft high) on ground is scary.
Incline is usually high around 7, with a 3.5-4 speed. (walking briskly), jogging is lower.

1. Squats
2. Squats
3. Squats
4. Treadmill - after getting off, I feel like I'm about to lose my balance.

I'm one of those very competitive guys. About 10 years ago, I went to the gym with a bunch of friends with the goal of stretching each other out. I sized the guys up and figured that there’s no way I would let them out-lift me in anything, even the bigger guys. Everything was fine and dandy until we started working on our legs. I rarely work on my legs but I knew I was strong enough to lift with anybody my size. Big mistake!

Back then, I typically squat about 275 lbs about once in every 4 months when the stars align but on this particular day, these guys where going up to 315 lbs (3 plates on each side of the barbell). Long story short, I held my breath for way too long during the squats and I built up enough pressure inside me that I got very dizzy and couldn’t hear anything for about a minute. I had to play it off like nothing happened and had to go for a very long walk!

Well my own situation was different, I always saw this guy get off easily while the mill was still rolling, I tried to do it, and my accident really hurt me badly. Well, treadmills at faster levels are for people who are mostly runners because it takes a lot to keep up... Though I won't encourage it if you're not there yet.

ROTFL!! Sorry, I'm trying to imagine you falling.

Re: Your Most Hated Exercises At The Gym? by Nobody: 4:07pm On Jul 06, 2012
I hate the threadmill and bike with a passion.
Can't stand them. I force myself onto them.
Can't bloody wait for twenty minutes to be off the nonsense.

On the other hand, squats give me a 'hard one'.
Love that exercise.

On a slightly different note: does anyone know of a decent gym on the mainland? I'm tired of the mushroom gyms I see around.
Re: Your Most Hated Exercises At The Gym? by Nobody: 4:08pm On Jul 06, 2012
I honestly hate exercising. Though i can do with a thread mill but i prefer power walking in an open area just for fresh air.

I cant remember the last tyme I even turn on the treadmill or climb the bike, I seem to prefer the natural press-up after few bottles, if you get what I mean...

You're laughing? embarassed embarassed embarassed It wasn't funny to me because the gym folks had to call emergency for me. Like I fell backwards because I was inclined. My luck was that due to the fact I wanted to stop, I had reduced the speed. Had it been in high speed/incline and I got thrown off, it would have been a different story. After that day, believe me, I learned the hard way. Never, ever, mess with treadmill at rolling speed.
