Its not the first time that a Nigeria telecoms company will have one network-based issue or the other. It is either empty Hen, or Glo or Airtel. Even Etisalat users have had cause to gripe one time or the other. The main issue here is not really Glo, cos this could have happened to any operator. According to the reports I've heard, its fibre cut of their submarine cable. The issues we should address should revolve around the conduciveness of the Nigerian context. Is the country supportive of these telecoms companies? Is the regulator bothered about them? What has been put in place to ensure effective service delivery? Is bandwidth available? And why the incessant cable cuts? To tackle Glo now, isnt its Glo 1 touted as a good network? I happen to know a bit about the Nigerian telecoms landscape and I know a bit... Nigeria is currently blessed with surplus internet capacity... but it all lies on the sea shores. Companies like Main One Cable, Glo 1 and WACS have brought capacity. But bringing it inside the country, devoid of the necessary infrastructure is impossible. Urge your government to focus on last-mile connectivity, and stop crying over the little piece of bread that dropped when a whole juicy loaf is available...
