Ex-England captain John Terry has been cleared of racially abusing fellow footballer Anton Ferdinand.

The Chelsea and England defender had denied making the comments to the Queen Park Rangers player during a match at Loftus Road last October.

The 31-year-old told Westminster Magistrates' Court that he had repeated what he thought Mr Ferdinand had said to him as the pair traded insults.

Mr Terry had described himself as "angry and upset" over the claims.

It was alleged he had insulted Mr Ferdinand in a match between Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers, describing him as "black" and using extreme sexual swear words.

But Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle said he had heard a great deal of evidence to show Mr Terry was not a racist.

if you have been following the case, you will know that ferdinand himself said he did not hear the guy abuse him rather it was when he got home and the girlfriend showed him on youtube. is it possible that qpr were fast enough to post the pics on youtube? make u use ur brain now abeg. ashley cole was the nearest player to them and he said he did not hear terry say such. the two players made up at the end of the match but ur types went ahead posting videos that cannot be proved.
