thanks u very much, for ur advice, pls will want to know more
of the prospect of charter holder in nigeria, and my be the kind
of job i can get after level 1 or 2.
Re: CFA Candidates In The House by realkemmy(m): 1:01pm On Dec 13, 2007
@wty

even as a registered student member, u are a hot cake.

financial institutions apart from banks will rush u.

i am very sure of IBTC asset management and FSDH, even MERISTEM.

the prospects of a charter holder in Nigeria i s just too high.

although its higher in places like the UK, CANADA, USA etc where financial analysts are almost the highest paid employees.

we will get there.

another thing is that u must not aspire to work for long in Nigeria if u want to maximise the use of your charter.

thats what i am currently working on now.

all the best man.

It is an exam to write or study for. With CFA your professional life will never remain the same.

Speaking in tongues here means talking about issues others in the house do not understand.

This is an example of someone who thinks you are speaking in tongues.

pass at all cost legal and moral.

Re: CFA Candidates In The House by dremoney(m): 10:25pm On Dec 13, 2007
Very solid thread and contributions so far.

One begins to wonder when really a chartered analyst can utilise his/her expertise for the full benefit and development of Nigeria. Personally, i must be a chartered analyst ( tho stl in schul to get my MSc in Internatinal Finance and Banking) and would want to spend the rest of my life contributing to the advancement of my dear father land (NIGERIA).

No place like home ma pple.
Re: CFA Candidates In The House by slaykay07: 10:37pm On Dec 13, 2007
Good programme (MSc in Internatinal Finance and Banking), where are you doing it?
Re: CFA Candidates In The House by tkb417(m): 8:06am On Dec 14, 2007
can see how learned you are too!!

read the previous posts and ask yourself that question again, somebody asked " what is CFA" up there and i think that is polite enough to attract some answers
u must be one of the dunderheads on airaland. . . . . or how can someone explain this drivel? neways, jump into a lake if you don't know what CFA means.  i was only talking about the person who said people are speaking in tongues. . . i owe you or nobody any explanation

@wyt
results will be out soon. . .man, i must pass

@Digiman
who will you entrust your money with? im waiting for an answer. if youre in a developed world and youre thinking of not entrusting your money with a CFA charterholder, then you will have to dig up a hole in your room and put your money under the ground. . . . just kidding

@realkemmy
i used Stalla too and the whole comprehensive pakage was 1090 dollars. i heard scheweser costs some more. I think the success is dependent on how much time you spend on reading the materials and also how much
you grasp the core concepts and the materials/tuition provider ure using. im loving my Stalla. the interactive CD, lecture notes, study guides and the passmaster question data software were invaluable while i was preparing.

@All
CFA means Certified Financial Analyst and its an investment based exam that trains on ethics, portfolio mgt, corporate finance, FSA, Quantitatives, Econs et al
The certification is hot because of the benefits of attaining the prestigious Charter. The time spent and even money cannot be compared to what charterholders earn at an average. The last time i checked, a Charterholder in the US earns as much as 250,000 dollars annually depending on the years of experience. In some other countries its higher.

Hi, Guys
This thread was supposed to be for people preparing for the June 2008 CFA level 1 exam. But excessive replies makes it hard for the serious candidate to follow the chain of events. If u have questions ask them politely and you will be answered. And if your questions does not have anything to do with the CFA level 1 exam kindly find somewhere else to post ur comment. This is an extremely serious exam and should be taken with the utmost seriousness. Planning to buy Schweser study notes any comments from my brothers.
