Hello beautiful tourist! Dumela... Molo... Sawubona! (Greetings in local languages) Welcome to Johannesburg, my hometown! YEAH. As Mzansi's largest city - and the most visited on the continent - Jo'burg has a lot of awesome and exciting spots you just have to see and enjoy. And, although a bit busy, you'll find the locals to be friendly and very helpful towards tourists. There's a bit of everything for everyone - and, get this... it's a relatively cheap destination for world-class shopping, dining and relaxation. Covid-19 might have halted your travel plans for a visit right now but don't despair... begin to prepare! So, 'Jozi' here we come, and welcome to you all. (YouTube Videos on page 4) 6 Likes

The Early Bird Catches the Lion (Day 1, 06:00) So, you landed last night and have now just woken up. What do you do now? Let's ease into your trip with a visit to the park, shall we?! Jo'burg is famous for being the world's largest man-made forest. But unfortunately, the city of gold does not have wild animals or even game reserves. What?!! So, to connect with the wild, you gonna act like a local and head off to 'Lion Park and Safari Resort' just a few kilometres outside the city, to the 'Cradle of Humankind'. But remember to put on your brave hat, because you'll be riding through lion and wild dog enclosures (but you'll be the one in the cage, lol) as well as getting upclose and personal with Simba's cubs. Roar, they are just too cute! (See YouTube video on page 4) 3 Likes 1 Share

Everyone on Earth is African (Day 1, 09:00) While you're in the neighbourhood, drop in at the 'Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site'. This is where fossils of some of the earliest known life forms on Earth have been found, such as the earliest known dinosaurs - dating back at least 200 million years. You'll also come face-to-face with our earliest human ancestors - who first emerged about 7 million years ago, right here in Africa. Spooky! But fascinating. And that should conclude your morning. I think we should grab something to eat for lunch. Hmmm, where should we go for that? ... 4 Likes

Evidenx: Lol , Jo'burg is far more soulful and historical, although it's far younger than the Cape (by 200 years). Give us a chance, man! Stay tuned. |

So-We-To Now? (Day 1, 13:00) It's been an active morning and now you've got the munchies - ouch! And nothing but a truly authentic African meal will do. So, let's dive right back into the city but drive south to the 'South Western Townships' - yep, that's Soweto! You'll be spoilt for choice in this vibrant township - the largest and most famous in South Africa. From 'Chaf Pozi' on the grounds of the iconic Soweto Towers, to 'Sakhumzi' and 'Vuyos Place' tucked along the renowed Vilakazi Street (the only street in the world to have housed 2 Nobel Peace Prize Winners - Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu). 5 Likes

Take a Sho't Left (Day 1, 15:00) While in Soweto, take a 'shot left'. This is what locals say to indicate to the taxi driver they are about to get off at the next street on the left. So, let's explore! Either by tour bus or on a bike, local tour guides will show you why Soweto is considered the spiritual home of South Africa's fight against white minority rule (apartheid). You can ride past the Hector Pietersen Memorial where students were shot during the 1976 uprising, literally jump off the 'Soweto Cooling Towers' and even zoom past the house Nelson Mandela lived in while in Soweto. How cool is that?! 3 Likes

Unwind in Coolest Melville (Day 1, 20:00) Wow, it's been a long day filled with adventure! So let's head back to our rooms and take a refreshing bath or shower. Since it's our first night in the city and everything might be overwhelming at the moment, we'll just hit one night spot today. And what a perfect choice it is. Melville! This suburb falls in and out of favour like a pair of shoes, and now it’s in favour again, as it was named one of the 40 Best Suburbs in the World in 2020. Wow! It's got a great but relaxed nightlife dominated by street-lined cafes and cocktail bars. It's best described as a "joyous, everyone-knows-everyone kind of place,” but where tourists immediately feel at ease. Merry drinking. Cheers! And nite-nite. 2 Likes

Fun City within the City (Day 2, 09:00) Wakey, wakey! Hope Melville didn't leave you suffering a massive morning-after headache. Today's itinerary will be a whole day affair. So put on your most comfortable pair of jeans and T-shirt because we're going to Gold Reef City. Oh yeah! This theme park right in the city centre is the only authentic underground mine tour in Johannesburg, complete with 18 thrill rides and 13 dedicated ones for the kiddies. Prepare to spend the whole day here as the queues are long and the rides extra addictive! (See YouTube video on page 4) 4 Likes

Hop On, Hop Off (Day 2, 09:00) Since a trip to Gold Reef City could possibly be a whole-day affair, you could choose to explore the real City of Gold instead. And the best way to see the city centre of Jozi in a single day is to take the official city tour bus. So, let's hop right on! The red Double Decker Hop on-Hop off Bus has over 16 stops, and takes you to over 20 of Johannesburg's top attractions, including the Apartheid Museum, the Constitution Hill and much more! It's safe, fun, educational and convenient! (See YouTube video on page 4) 4 Likes

Shopping is Forever Fashionable (Day 2, 14:00) When you're ready to stylishly hop off the red tour bus make sure it's at a mall. And those aren't difficult to find in Jozi. Did you know South Africa has the 6th most number of malls in the world? And they house many of the world's best fashion and luxury brands. Jo'burg alone has at least 40 notable shopping centres attracting fashionistas, celebs and politicians from all over the sub continent. So, sashay right into the brand-new 'Mall of Africa', high-end 'Sandton City' or huge 'Eastgate' in grand style! (See YouTube video on page 4) 5 Likes

Bet on Having Fun (DAY 2, 20:00) Now that you're looking stylish from your trip to the mall, your bank balance might have taken a bit of a dip. But don't despair! If you're the gambling type, try increasing your fortune at one of the city's five major casinos: Emperors Palace, Carnival City, Silverstar, Gold Reef City or Monte Casino. But don't despair if you're not the gambling type - the casinos also host a variety of entertainment venues such as live music or fighting arenas, restaurants and kiddies play areas. You sure can bet on having fun here! 2 Likes

Hey! Nowadays, when lockdowns come one after another, it is best to open an online casino and enjoy uninterrupted online gambling! In order to create such an online casino, the most reliable idea is to turn to https://nuxgame.com/solutions/live-casino who will provide a reliable platform for any game in your online casino but even provide games from the very best game developers themselves! |
