I am not just an introvert but I am a bit shy as well, especially around the opposite gender.

I moved to this area in April this year and other than my brother, not a single soul has visited me. And the fact that I see nothing wrong with that, worries me.

I don't like associating and I barely have friends. I work from home, so the option of associating with coworkers is out of the window.

I get bored with people and things easily and that makes me feel there's no need in trying to make friends.

I used to have a girlfriend, but I broke up with her with the silly excuse that I needed some time off.

My daily routine? Wake up in the morning, get in front of my system and begin my job for the day. Take a break, make my meal, eat and get back to work. Surf the net in between (Facebook, WhatsApp, Nairaland, LinkedIn, Quora, etc.), do some other necessary stuff and sleep when it's time.
Damn! Such a boring life.

I can be indoors for a full month without stepping out of the house.

People want to talk to me, girls especially, but I am the one avoiding them. And for this, they think I am too rude or proud. Only if they knew...

Sometimes I wonder if I can be able to get married. If I can be able to live with a woman for the rest of my life without getting bored.

I think my own introversion is the worst kind there is.

You made it sound like introverts are people who don't talk at all.
Introverts are really wonderful people. They talk a lot and do lotta things when they are used to you. You may even be wondering if that particular person is really an introvert. Introvert or not it's all about being free with a person, you make them be at ease hence they can be themselves. I'm an introvert as well I don't go about talking to people in public all in the name of I wanna be jovial, like them acclaimed extroverts do, cos I see it as creepy. But if I get to know you a bit you may even wonder if I was that same guy that was so quiet all those years.

One thing I have noticed is seems a lot of people have misconstrued impression of introverts and tend to classify certain group of people as introverts. If u are depress or going through some life difficulties that is now affecting the way u react, that doesn't mean u are an introvert. A lot of depressed people tend to see themselves as introverts. Introverts are people who don't talk or do things unnecessarily with those they are not familiar with. Their level of self respect is very high, anything that will lead to shaming or ridicule, they always try to avoid it. But once they get familiar with u, they can go any length.

My two closest friends in Uni were ENFP and INFJ .

I never knew MBTI types could change though. Although from the little study I've done on MBTI, the ENFP and INFJ are supposed to be mirror types. For example I'm supposed to behave more like an ENTJ when I'm stressed.

How do you get on socially, Uche.? Do you stick to an intellectual bubble of mates or do you just get on with things, let people come to you and communicate more or less firm boundaries along the way? I feel like one thing INTPs and INFJs both have in common is that we’re quite guarded and selective about who we let in and even when we do and really love them we still often interact with them in a reserved way.

I've always had a small circle of loyal friends who I've known for donkey years . I have an INFJ who was my best friend from secondary school till my university days, and even now we're still very close. Curiously, I interact with people a lot -- except I never allow myself get too attached to them. I must confess, I do prefer to hang around people that I perceive are just as smart, or even smarter than I am.

It’s often a case of being friendly from arm’s length and cherishing day-one acquaintances but bearing in mind going forward that no-one’s entitled to get to know you, nor are they all necessarily worth your time. That friendly reserve of INFJs especially seems to really irk some people but ultimately it just is what it is. Your social boundaries are yours to draw and if you’re naturally reserved even around family and close friends/good acquaintances you’ve known for years and years you’re definitely not going to be going out of your way to befriend every new person within spitting distance. Especially if they’re not that interesting or smart.

Hmm. I always assumed INFJs were much more friendly than INTPs. My friend is the type of person who hates to keep grudges with other people. Any altercation she's involved in always ends in her seeking the other person's forgiveness. It's also very rare to see her upset -- always cheerful even when the mood doesn't call for it. Contrast that with me who's all too willing to snub people for the rest of eternity if they rub me off the wrong way .
