Re: Igbos Migrated From Ile-Ife - Ooni Of Ife by Zeezenho: 1:42pm On Oct 09, 2023 |
Efewestern: You are correct about this.am an igbo man I will talk about my race.we are combination of different settlers. The nucleus igbo which is ndi gboo the ancient people were aborigines they were there forever even before adam then other migrant igbos from diverse places joined. so am not bothered about any history that link igbos to anywhere. Same applies to aborigines igbo that migrated to other places. My take is people from ife may migrate to core igbo land that does not make us Yoruba's and igbos that migrated to ijaw does not make ijaws igbos. |
Re: Igbos Migrated From Ile-Ife - Ooni Of Ife by Efewestern: 1:53pm On Oct 09, 2023 |
Zeezenho: It's even more interesting to know that several Igbo aboriginals have been assimilated into what we today call Bini, Igala etc and the Igbos too have cornered and assimilated several groups too. I personally do not believe in the Ife story. The Igbos shared more ancestors with Efik/Ibibio, Bini , Igala and just recently Eastern Yoruboid groups that settled in today's Ugbodu (Which is insignificant). There is no way Ile-Ife could be part of Igbo ancestry. They never even met to start with. |

Lol.. Igbo are at any place they can trade, their place not enough to contain them and their trade. Thats why they cant cope alone in their homes, they need everywhere in Nigeria. They are traders, nothing else. Igbos need Nigeria |

Then why so much hatred among the two tribes online? Though I know it's mostly online as they both intermarry offline. |

wowcatty: Spot on bro. Before the creation of States, the Ijebus were considered the closest yoruba subgroup to the Ilajes. Ijebus and Ilajes typically use the 'u' sound in place of 'i'. e.g. Ule, Ushu 1 Like |

Exactly! 'Usu'(Yam) is one of them, but the youth say 'Isu' and I wonder what will happen to these words when these old people die off. Words like 'Ebe' (Yam pottage) has totally been replaced with 'Asaro' except among the very old in the villages. pak: |

Monkey, disrespectful to Ooni who? You mean the Ooni who has disrespected himself all over Nigeria talking shitt? The cap on his head is equivalent to a bedpan and it has been used to mop the floor in the north and east. I dare any traditional whatever to invoke anything on me, even Ooni self, den never born him reach that level. There are some women even the biggest witch doctors fear the most, anything spiritual, I have it covered. Send this to Ooni and watch them die after another in his palace if they invoke anything on my spirit. Don't come and talk about ogun where I dey o, small girl! There are Orisas and ogun abenugongo but they can't work for Ooni because he has given them poison and no longer their custodian. He has moved away from the traditions and just doing what he likes. He's a shame to Yoruba, the Orisas are slapping him and that's why he talks nonsense. Orisa and Alaale will listen to me before they listen to him. I demand a meaningful help from my leaders and Ooni hasn't measured up. Tani Olohun is still in prison and the stupid Ooni being the head of Isese should have asked for his release immediately considering how he was kidnapped and held, but the idiot is running mad over useless stuff. wowcatty: Take it easy. All people had civilization of their own before contact with others and any group can list things they developed on their own but urban civilizations are more successful because of the level of cooperation. Nothing more than that. |
Re: Igbos Migrated From Ile-Ife - Ooni Of Ife by lawani: 3:20am On Oct 11, 2023 |
wowcatty:The Ooni is new and therefore may not understand many things for now. He will catch up. Can you compare him with the late Alaafin Adeyemi who went all out to support what we do online with his Esu is not Satan campaign? Can you compare him even with the late Oba Sijuade?. Can Oba Sijuade Or Aderemi be saying Igbos are Ife people while leaving out the Chinese or Indians?. Even while some of the Igbos are saying Ijebu Igbo, Igbomina and etc are Igbo words and that the land was originally Igbo land?. But what you need to understand is that all people end up learning on the job no matter how highly they are paid. Average people especially learn on the job |
Re: Igbos Migrated From Ile-Ife - Ooni Of Ife by wowcatty: 2:33am On Oct 12, 2023 |
No doubt, Alaafin failed miserably in areas of pushing Yoruba interests forward but I will give him a tiny pass because of what happened to his father for standing up for Yoruba culture. Sijuade was even worse especially on Abiola but none has their nude pictures outside and full of scandals like this Ooni Adewusi, a living, breathing disaster and shame. How many credits has he given to igbos alone? What is his business with them? This Ooni is always in one scandal or another. The people I blame are those who respect him for doing nothing but disgracing Yorubaland. ESU IS NOT SATAN 110% That Esu is not Satan is long settled. Learning on the job is not exactly what the position of Ooni should be but well, the people are stuck with him and it's going to be hell of a wild ride and people like me will be all in on them. What is unacceptable is for people to think Yoruba don't know any better than putting idiots in the leadership positions, if Ooni has nothing to offer people, he should shut up and stop bringing insults on Yoruba by giving igbos validation on their claim to Yorubaland. lawani: |
