Got a crazy unbelievable job offer here. Still feels unreal. After over 200 interviews including recruiter calls. God is great. Truly by strength shall no man prevail but by the power and mercy of God.

Bros. My present salary is like 400 percent what I was earning in Nigeria and since the income is coming from outside Chile it's tax free for the first 3 years. I only need to pay my pension and health insurance. It's unbelievable. It's literally life changing money and even when I start paying taxes it's just 19 percent a month.

The interview process in this part of the world is something else entirely. What I will advise people especially people going as students is to start the job search from day one. Try and make the mistakes all early and get used to the process. I am surprised that a few people wait until their program ends to start looking for work.

Don't you think it could be because they think they might not be able to dedicate enough hours for the job before graduation?

I believe Chile has a minimum study hours that students shouldn't go below per week.

It really depends on the course. If your masters is a professional masters you will only have classes on weekends but if it's an academic one, you will have classes everyday. The law says 30 hours but absolutely no one is checking that stuff here. No one cares lol. You can even own your own business on a student visa here. I was doing Uber eats for a while and I went more than 30 hours consistently

cheesy omo! I thought they were strict on that. But wouldn't that affect attedance tho?

What was the interview to offer ratio like when you finally got a hang of the interview process?

To be honest they don't care, just don't drop out of school or if you do you need to switch the sub category of your visa from student to work but that resets the count to get permanent residency.

Interviews I have done since I entered Chile is more than 200 interviews. I have interviewed with cisco, Amazon, other big companies. I have even interviewed with the state bank of Chile sef. I failed a lot of my initial interviews but after cracking how to do them well. I wasn't still getting any offers except comments like we went with a better candidate and stuff like that but they will say I am really sound technically. Funny enough my current offer supercedes everything I have interviewed for.

I feel Colombia has more jobs than Chile to be honest. For every 10 recruiter calls I get, 6 are from Colombia. 2 are Chilean, 2 are Argentine. Brazilians speak Portuguese so they won't be bothering with other Latin Americans but I have had a few Interviews with companies in Brazil.

If tenacity is a person, then, you're the human definition of it.

Congratulations, man.

More wins. More success.

Kudos.

They are very thorough here especially with the theory parts. There's also other interviews. A single wrong answer or an ineffective answer can spoil your whole progress.

Chile Is an amazing country to be honest. It presents its own kind of struggles. It definitely provides you with the opportunities but you would need to work extra hard to get them
