MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by WarfyBoy(m): 2:07am On Dec 14, 2007
I was listening to news on AIT yesterday when i heard that MTN "everywhere you go" has been banned from further sales of sim cards, due to poor services. I don't know if anyone else has heard about this too.
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by ayusman16(m): 8:45am On Dec 14, 2007
There are more to be followed: NEPA should be closd down, Waterboard should be converted to Missionary school and all our airports should be grounded grin
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by MyPeace(f): 9:56am On Dec 14, 2007
NCC gave them three weeks to upgrade their service delivery. not necessarily banned, but might be banned if they refuse to comply.
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by Pamperme: 11:38am On Dec 14, 2007
good news, i always wonder if NCC is working at all
now they have proved to me that they are
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by ndubest(m): 12:16pm On Dec 14, 2007
Its seems NCC is asleep or they are hv forgotten their over sight functions on all these operators

thanks to the House of Rep

This noise from NCC that all operators should upgrade their services have been on for sometime now without any significant result

i hope they will follow up on this and not allow MTN go free on this as usual
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by TerrySoft(m): 12:33pm On Dec 14, 2007
This is a good move on the part of the NCC but i hope they don't allow this to be swept under carpet o!

Meanwhile, i've been wondering when one will get value for his money from all these operators.

I hope God intervene here - AMEN Ooooooooooooooooo!!!!

grin grin grin grin grin grin

NCC needs to introduce such stiffer orders; hence it will make them (operators) to sit-up.

All along they have been a toothless dog.
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by chatykrew(m): 1:21pm On Dec 14, 2007

Sincerely I'm glad NCC did that. It will make other telcom operators sit up. It is a rite step in the rite direction.  cheesy

Point Of Correction!

It wasn't NCC that gave the ultimatum. It was actually House of RebelsReps.

So NCC head never correct grin
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by emmydee(m): 2:31pm On Dec 14, 2007
good news though. but NCC waited for far too long to come up with such a directive. why so long. if there's bad network for a day, Nigerians would lose over N100M, so such directives should have been made available in their operational agreement so that when such things happen, NCC wouldn't wait for 3 weeks to hit.good work NCC though.

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by touche(m): 3:08pm On Dec 14, 2007
Its high time someone 'stepped up' to these useless telecoms companies. The fact that they paid hundreds of millions
of dollars for licenses does not mean that they should be so profit oriented (to the extent that they neglect proper
service delivery).

The Solution:

1. Servicom needs to play a more active role in protecting consumers from poor service delivery from telecoms
companies (and banks).

2. The head of NCC (Ernest Ndukwe) needs to be more effective and aggressive in handling these telecoms
companies. We need an El Rufai or Dora Akinyuli to head the NCC.

infact they should just ban all gsm operators and maybe extend to the fixed wireless operators too, then roll in the drums and smoke signals grin

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by EZHack(m): 8:14pm On Dec 14, 2007
They've been battling NASRDA for a while now. That is one of the reasons why they've got no time for GSM service provider.

Issue's with NASRDA will be resolved soon and the GSM service provider and other telecoms will be faced squarely.

Sitting in ma room listening to rythm FM while surfing the internet this morning and I heard mtn broadcasting their 3.5g network and saying network service coming to your area soon but for now you could get the data card. Guess this is good news.
