the national assembly is most dumest thing in this life.
IN RUSSIA WE HAVE OVER 1000 TELCOM COMPANIES that can bost of good services.
reason: RUSSIA has constant power supply AND
security etc
but here in naija we have
obnoxious govermantal policies,
interupted power supply.
lack of security.
etc.
 DISEL RUN MAST PLANTs 24HRS/DAY
MAST RE BEEN VANDELIZED EVERY NOW AND THEN. WHAT  DO YOU EXPECT?
even the national assembly
that FIGHT THEMSELF like GOATS is not credible to give such dirivatives

at last, some one is one the side of MTN.
i wonder who is given more epileptic service in the country, National Assembly, with the Legislootives and the Executhieves or MTN trying to do business in a very harsh environment without power supply, high cost of diesel and they can't just change their tariff, vandalized equipments, "what happened to the oil pipelines"
let the government give them ENABLING ENVIRONMENT then let us see what they can do.

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by spaceworld: 7:57pm On Dec 15, 2007
3rd- Hunter,
I wonder, infact i do not know what to say, Nigerians should take the bull by the horn,
First ask all ur HOUSE REPS and SENATORS where are all the BILLIONS meant for infrastructure development had gone to,
Second where is the enabling environment
Third,:- NEPA whatsoever they are holding or what? where is the service.
Fourth you as a entity or in person doing business on another terrain, where heavy licence fees where slam on you, what will u count first, any IBO man on these tread? i belief na ur profit first.

I believe all these people that are making noise have not step out of this country before, and see an enabling environment that is good to do business where there is security, public investiture, well organise society, in terms of all good and essential facilities.

I wonder why people are just one sided of the problem facing all these telecoms company, before una go crucify me ok!!! i am not saying that it is wrong for you to complain about the problem u are facing on the network, very well it is your right,

Where is it only Nigeria that most GSM operators customers complain bitterly, for those that have the opportunity to experience GSM network in other country can you please rate the service or compare to Nigeria environment.

So what is the problem or hindrance of GSM network problem in Nigeria, nobody seek to know what is the problem exactly, but just to shout BAD network, all those people that still cut telecoms fibre where is the police to arrest them, check the down time to fix a fibre transmission line,

The fuel, there is no NEPA na sosososos buy buy to thousand of sites for you to make calls Nigeria get Oil still goes for high prices in her domestics market, Country wey no get Oil still enjoy better networks that Niaja

All the generator thief or vandals our many the EGUNJE police don catch, Road to access facilities and town within the shortest time where is it,
please hold ur government to order before you crucify those that are contributing to the national development, all the tax MTN staff pay your GOVERNMENT where is the proceeds, BILLIONS of Niara where is it/ any vivid project with the money?

Just they raise mouth the shout, Telecoms business na joke, abi you think say na just the buy and sell una dey do under idumota bridge or from DUBAI, ask MIKANO how much how 100KVA to 150KVA generators cost, now talk of two per site over 3000 sites, the BIZ no be AKARA AND MOI MOI, OK!!!!!!!

Find solution to ur lingering power and security problem first, and tell police to catch thieves, and those that spoil and vandals telecoms Ur

OK !!!!!!!1

I think the house should focus more on enabling environment for business as against intimidating operating companies. Steady Power, Improved Security and Rule of Law, Improved Codes of Practice for companies that encourages investments by companies while not cheating consumers like the way MTN and co are cheating now.

Then they will not be directly involved in issues like MTN (where perhaps they will most likely end up getting some personal gratifications and close the matter silently) but will be more focused and providing true Leadership. Not Area Boy showmanship.

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by TrueTalk3: 9:58am On Dec 17, 2007
I'm a little curious when its being mentioned that MTN (or any network at all); tends to cheat people / make money off drop calls.

I need a little enlightenment here; I'm of the opinion that no-one is cheated with per second billing. If your call drops in 7secs, you get charged for 7secs abi?

The issue of House of Reps banning or not banning shows our misplaced priority. The House of Reps should get busy, looking into the provision of infrastructure/amenities (most especially electricity), rather than try to bully any network in order to adduce self-gratification.

Where is the Security in Nigeria, to help look into the vandalisation of these networks' equipment, and even national infrastructure?

No doubt these GSM operators need to up their game in delivering quality service (I personally don't see the need for 3.5 or 4G, when simple calls dont connect); yet the government also has alot on its plate to prioritize.

Ban MTN ko!, Ban Mtel ni!!
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by VINDYLOMO(m): 11:48am On Dec 17, 2007
I think this is a welcome development but I will still sugest to who ever care that the way out is that one should have all the lines if one is malfunctioning then you can easily replaced it with the effective one. For me that is exactly what I am doing.

I know many of you guys don't like MTn as a company for soo many reasons including bad network and other services but i for one have seen one thing that they are doing well to help their customers. I discovered one MTN website that they use to network all their users and they are even offering free 100Naira credit if you join the site and upload the pictures. The site is Midnitecaller.com.

So i just wish they work on their service and improve themselves.

By the way, when will they begin to offer their shares to the public.

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by cabali(m): 4:34pm On Dec 24, 2007
it is easy 4 people to talk while they think with their eyes. The house of reps can only make a noise and the ncc can only bark.

if all is don right, all the gsm coys would be asked to park up but u know what? they (NCC and house of rebels) can't effect that because they know they haven't fulfilled their part of the contract.

the money paid by these coy ($280m) wa partly for building infrastructure and backbone for them to work with. Power issue was supposed to be worked on but no, they shared the loot among the 36 staes and everyone had a party.
Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by cabali(m): 4:45pm On Dec 24, 2007
The hous of rebels just want recognition and bribe. they can never place a finger on MTN let alone any other gsm coy.

they can't even assist in vandalism of telecoms equipment installed for service where do they now get the political justification to even threaten these guys?

they are just short of bribe money to fight and kill themselves over, that's all.

Re: MTN Barred From Further Sale Of SIM Cards? by cabali(m): 5:16pm On Dec 25, 2007
listen! at a time, in a period of 2 months MTn lost about 2O power generators In the South region alone. That's like millionsof naira each and the government Says nothing

what happens to -Service at the time these stations are Vandalised ? there will no service
all the players suffer this. if the govermeut did Its part deal there will be no need for as much base stations let alone generators

all tai players spend good money on their power generation and security which still isn't enough. This. s what the Stupid house of rebels are Supposed to look into but they don't.

all they can do is just bark? nothing more so just Kill this thread and talk on Something else
