The first mistake a website owner should think is that the only money he can make is from adverts from other people.
There are some other creative strategies Seun can generate revenue from nairaland,
The current adverts being advertised are too small and unattractive and not professional, you should setup an automated advert system and integrate it with multiple payment systems.
Also i have a solution to target local advertisers in Nigeria, who don't even use the internet which can see that nairaland generates over 100 million naira in a month

You should completely mimic google adverts on nairaland, same dimensions,same everything
copy their format, don't limit advertisers to this small size format, its too myopic

unclenna: even if this is what senu needs your design will not pass through because of this: Check your banner well.....1) I have to strain my eyes well to see your website address...2) The dollar color will not allow me see the "send".....A banner that is meant to send information to the public should have a love at first site apperance and all information should be clearly seen once the eyes flashes on it........I hope this will help....

Try it and you will see the number of customers you will get.............The secret is this: Put testimonies of satisfy customers with their email or number (Remember to seek their consent first)....Once this is done people will believe you and will like to give you a trail. Regarding the testimonies,I personally don't know why I always got a cold feet each time I come across a website with lot of testimonies on their site. I prefer when the testimonies/recommendation are mentioned in a forum or blog by someone you don't know at all. I think I will give your advice a try. Thanks for the tip
