I was just wondering why christians only talk about blessings, success and prosperity and rarely talk about rapture let alone preparing for it. What if you are left behind after rapture, child of God, what will you do?

Is rapture for everybody that believes in Christ or for those elect that have been chosen to reign with Jesus Christ?

Right, the Christian zombie apocalypse. You do realize that this rapture stuff is a very recent addition to Christian dogma right? It was basically made up by American Pentecostals early in the 20th century who cherry-picked bible verses to back it up. Before 1900 nobody had even heard of the rapture.

The idea has spread so far because it's a very effective way to scare small children and the weak-minded into professing Christianity (it scared the hell out of me until I was about 7) But it, is as are all religious dogmas, complete bullshît.

You guys need to grow up (like I did) and face reality.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Kjv see also Mk 13 vs 26-27

@Todaynatoday the Elect are God's chosen ones. This includes Christ in Is 42 vs 1 nd Mtt 12 vs 17 , all children of God, Col 3 vs 12 and all those anointed by God for special purposes, Is 45 vs 1.

Really? I'm quite sure that the verses I quoted were written long before 1900. Where do you get your "facts" from?

Read it in context, Paul was writing a letter to comfort his brethren and remind them of the hope that awaits them. It was not a "prophecy".
He thought he would see the rapture in his time in the same way many patriarchs of the old testament thought they will see the messiah in their time.
