I have a problem with some of the thoughts here. You blame christainity on many things which I've come to realize that on most part, you caused it.
1. I don't know if you really were a christain as you claimed. A look at your number 2 shows that the way you practised your christainity was not appealing. Being a christain doesn't give room for a segregating mentality. This one was an error on your part and not the way christains are fashioned.
2. Number is another problem. Cyrex, I still have to blame your version of christainity. Christainity doesn't make you less ambitious, it helps you control your ambition. I have to blame you here man.
4. Number 6 is also your fault. Delving into science will not make you lose faith. Cyrex, I observed something. The version of christainity you practised was at the best crude. You were a superficial christain.
5. Number 9 also is your fault and not christainity's.
6. Number 10 is not christain. It is hypocrisy. You take the blame for that.
7. Your number 9 is also self-induced. My number 4 has dealt with that.
8. Christainity has as one of its priorities, helping people. Your number 14 goes to show how you practised the art of deceit and nothing close to the christ life.

1) Christianity is based on segregation. Goat from sheep. Dont be yoked with unbelievers
2) Christianity has made many Nigerians and other people accept their lot in this life for a place in the next.

I could go on but........

A true picture of how Christianity and most religions keep shifting the failure of prayers and miracles on the believer. The problem's always with YOU, YOU, and YOU., doesn't matter that Jesus said if your faith be like a mustard seed.

Read his No. 10. That's pure liberation. Accepting yourself for who you are, not struggling to change what you are ( in christian speak, fighting against the flesh).

I do envy peeps like you, anony and ihedinobi who witnessed an 'instant' or 'gradual' change through Christianity. To say that most of us former Christians never sought God in 'spirit and truth' smacks of pride and extreme ignorance. 'God' never showed up (yeah, I can hear you say I was the one who didn't show up).
Re: Logicboy Meets Anony Again! Philosophy Vs Naturalism by cyrexx: 1:48pm On Jan 06, 2013
@Reygie,

pls go read about No-True-Scotsman fallacy before we continue.

Its easy for christians to label ex-christians as false christians rather than see the falsity of their religion.

Besides, those were my personal experiences, you have never walked in my shoes, so you will not be in the best position to critizise my experience of christianity. But I'm sure I practised the true form of christianity when I was practicing it. Every form of christianity believed they are the best while other forms are believed to be wrong or not-so-good.

1. You have to understand what it means to be 'yoked' before you even relate it with the unbeliever. To be yoked here involves coming to agreement with the belief of the unbeliever. Don't confuse it with interaction.
2. Christainity doesn't make one accept the low-life. What causes the low-life mentality is the christain's understanding of what he's practising.

Give up. We have summarized your tactics

Anything that is a negative effect of christianity- misunderstanding of christ's teaching
Anything that puts christianity in a positive light- proper application of christs teaching

What you're implying here is that christainity encourages deception in life-style. This is not true. You know something. What matters here is the life the christain is supposed to live. Anyone living below the tenets of the faith is deceiving himself.

Hahahaha, tithing works for some, others believe it isn't scriptural...
The trinity, Jesus God, hell or eternal destruction,

The only thing most Christians agree on is a Jewish man died for their sins. Beyond that, it's spiRITUAL warfare amongst the saints..

Not so. Logicboy, why not use the person of Christ as the standard here. If one's actions contradicts the life of Christ, only then he deviates from practising christainity.

True Anonyism at work.
I didn't imply that Christianity encourages 'deception' in life-style, what I implied was 'denial'... Check how the word of faith movement grew e.g never 'confess' you're sick even if you are, keep confessing positively and your 'confessions' will come to pass...

What kind of life is the Christian supposed to live?

Do Davidylan, frosbel, Anony, ihedinobi, goshen, joagbaje, jesoul and olaadegbuall share similar characters, beliefs and doctrines?

At the point one deviates from Christianity, does he automatically stop being 'christian'? Does one lose his/her salvation?

The thing is, I don't think anybody that really practised true christainity can leave the faith. It's not possible.

The Bible acknowledges that it's possible for 'true' christians to lose the faith...

Hebrews 6:4
For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once
enlightened--those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit.....

okay, bro.

I was kinda expecting that comment from you and anony and here is a post i made about 5 days ago on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/1144911/atheist-agenda-2013-all-atheists/1#13622924

^^
I followed christ for many years, i have read the bible from cover to cover. I have lived a born again christian life since 1992. I have a certificate of ministry from a popular ministry in Nigeria. I normally pray for hours and i speak in tongues and i have all the ecstatic spiritual experience any christian will have. I have led evangelism and missions outreaches for my church for many years before i realized that religion is nothing but mind games capitalising on human fear and ignorance. Yet when i talk, people like anony will say i didn't know christ when i was a christian. How much further do one have to know christ in order to qualify to effectively talk about christianity?

You should read Ihedinobi's reply when I put up this verse in reply to one of his arrogant questions. The dishonesty evident in his reply almost made me quit NL.. Heheeh..

wow! Quite revealing. The thing is, this people were not really living the christ-life. But God as a merciful Father that he is, allowed them to share in his blessings because they worshipped Him. That you received the holy spirit does not necessarily mean you're living the christ life.

How do you mean. This is a very simple thing. If by implication christainity is the christ-life, then any life below it is not christain. Mind you, our God is graceful.

@ bolded.

So if the holy spirit does not produce christ life in a believer, what does produce christ life in a believer?

Who then is a Christian?

One who occasionally reflects a Christ-life or one who continously does so?

Please forgive me as I may not have understood your statement quite correctly.

Are you saying 'christianity' is a constant which 'believers' hope to attain?

If a deviation (which I believe refers to sin in this context) causes one to fall below the standards of Christianity, is it right to say there are no 'true' christians? Is it possible for a believer to continually measure up to the 'christ-like' standard?
