Be Wise, Touch Not God's Anointed! by GraceBestowed(f): 11:16am On Mar 03, 2013
What has been baffling me lately is the complete disregard people have displayed for the men and women of God. By 'men and women of God', I'm referring to the well known pastors, and pastors in general.

I realise that even Christians get caught up in this blame game, and for a moment, you can't really tell them apart from non-Christians.

Most of the pastors I see people bash are truly anointed, filled with the Spirit, and are doing the work of God! When you go against the grain, accusing, insulting, and castigating them, God is not finding it funny, and you will have yourself to blame, when the consequences come.

Whether or not you think someone is truly of God, keep your mouth shut, please, don't speak evil of something you're unsure of, or don't know [he said, she said, is NOT a true account]. David knew that Saul was the anointed of God, and refused to kill him, even when Saul made his life a living hell. When God anoints someone, the anointing still stays on their life, even if they mess up, they just cannot operate in it without the presence of the Holy Spirit!

This is not done to arouse any sort of ill feelings, but the truth must be said. God has said, 'touch not mine anointed', and as believers we need to adhere to what God has said!

Remember to give Him thanks, in everything!

All His love!!

Blessings to you dear sister.

let us go that 'touch not anointed verse again.

Psalms 105:12-15 reads thus
'12.When they were but a few men in number;yea, very few, and strangers in it.13.When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;14.He suffered no man to do them wrong:yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;15.Saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

If you study the above very well, you'll notice he was referring to the whole isreal as anointed so don't localize it to a pastor or MOG no matter how visible.

Courtesy demands we avoid abusing people irrespective of status and for this reason,i STRONGLY detest insults on people.attack issues instead because attacking personalities is an attribute of a small mind. However,we christians must be known to stand against false doctrine anywhere we see it.If MOG feel that he's preaching right and someone is hindering the truth, then he should do like Paul in Acts 13:8-12 and pronounce judgment and see if God will answer him.

Rev Jim Jones in 1978 led almost 1000 souls on mass suicide hiding under this same touch not my anointed defence. If only more people had spoken out, maybe it wouldn't have happened.National Geographic channel ran a documentary on it last year.Do you know how many americans concluded there was no God because of it? Not speaking up is a greater evil my dear sister.

I only wish my brethren on here will avoid going personal on these topics.

From a random blog

Religious leaders who cry “Touch not God’s anointed!!” commit the same sin as the pope. They think that they’re infallible high priests, and that they cannot be questioned or held accountable by anyone for what they teach and how they live. They think that they’re ABOVE the law. However, the only infallible one is GOD. Everyone else is capable of sin & error, & therefore must be questioned, tested, and held accountable to the Word of God.

It is imperative for Christians to hold one another accountable to God’s Word (1 Jn. 3:17; Gal. 6:2; Tit. 1:9; 1 Tim. 1:3,4; 4:16; II Tim. 4:2; Matt. 18:15-16). Accountability brings attention to sins, errors, and impostors that should be purged from among us, so that we can be holy as God is holy.

False shepherds have no problem standing in the pulpit and trying to hold everyone else accountable, yet they want people to give them special treatment and turn a blind eye to their sins.

In essence, what they are asking Christians to do is commit idolatry, by putting them above God & His Holy Word. They are asking us to idolize them & give them preferential treatment simply because they have a title & a high-ranking position in a religious institution. This preferential treatment of religious leaders is an abomination in the sight of God. 1 Timothy 5:21 says “I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.” James 3:17 says “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, & easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

Many people who show favoritism towards religious leaders and defend their sins believe that they’re showing love, grace, and mercy to “God’s anointed”…but they’re actually perverting God’s grace and turning it into a license to sin.

They’re deceived and blinded by their emotional attachment to religious personalities, and their emotional attachment to men has caused them to be a man-pleaser, a defender of the wicked, and an enabler of false shepherds.

Defending false shepherds protects their platform, & enables them to continue leading souls astray, misrepresenting Christ, preaching false doctrines, and giving the world ammunition to speak evil of God, the saints, the Bible, and the faith.

Christ and the apostles were not emotionally attached to any of the leading personalities of their day. They weren’t man-pleasers, defenders of the wicked, and enablers of false shepherds. They told everyone who was in sin (whether they were a leader or not) to repent and believe the Gospel. Whether someone was a poor leper, a religious leader, a prostitute, or a king – Christ & the apostles had the same message “Repent of your sins & be converted!”

As the “touch not God’s anointed” crowd turns their back on God’s Word to defend their beloved pulpit personalities, they exchange God’s standard for elders for no standard at all. & when you have no standard for elders, your ‘churches’ become over-run with wolves & hirelings. The most vile and depraved men feel comfortable aspiring to leadership positions. Even homosexuals feel like they have a ‘right’ to become ordained pastors. & why wouldn’t they? Every other type of sin is allowed in the pulpit…why not homosexuality as well? & this is what happens when there is little to no accountability in leadership – any & everybody feels qualified to be a pastor.

@Candour, excellent response, thank you!

These days, pastors are spoken ill of, not because of what they preach, but because they live good, that was my angle.

In response to what you said, a true person of God will not peddle false doctrines (and there are many around). It is wrong to insult anybody, I don't do that, neither do I tolerate it, whoever the person is.

I still stand by what I have said initially; remember, it's not every one that calls "Lord", or preaches in His name that will enter Heaven.

Amongst the wheat, there will be chaff! I know that there are false prophets out there, people sent by satan himself! It is important to not mistake wheat for chaff. I have read that blog in question; 'by their fruit you shall know them', but I've seen people talk ill of real men of God, pastors who have preached the truth.

Exactly the point @the bolded dear sister.we should stop generalizing every MOG as fraudulent and also stop generalizing every MOG as called of God simply because they are leading a big organization.

Imagine adults in complete possession of some gray matter in their head kneeling down to a cane welding overseer and been flogged because they came to church late. This is the norm in a so-called 'church' here in this country. shocked SMH

God bless you jare daughter of God

well, some people have to be the demonstration of what happens when you make yourself an adversary to men and women of God.

otherwise, how will you learn God watches over his word to perform it.

All men are created equal. If one man tells me that because he is ''annonted'', i can't criticize him when he does wrong, then the first thing i will do is denounce him as a man of God and then remind him that i was annointed as well - every christian is an annointed child of God, no be so??

A real man of God doesn't hide behind his ''annointing'' and threaten his followers with ''curses'' and ''punishments'' when he is criticized; he acknowledges his wrong-doing, apologizes to his followers for the bad example he set them, and tries to be a better man. That is true humility, and thats how a real annointed man acts. Thats what David did when he was caught with another man's wife, and thats what Peter did when he was scolded by Paul.

I only have disgust for people like Op who would prefer to cower in fear and turn blind eyes on the excesses of their religious leaders. You're so soaked up in adulation of your pastors that you'll rather become deaf and dumb, rather than admit that they did something wrong. Shame on your brand of christianity.

Let me remind you that the quoted scripture says ''Touch not..''; it doesn't say ''Criticize not..'' Yes, David refused to kill Saul, but that didn't stop him from criticizing Saul, speaking against Saul, and even openly waging war against the ''annointed'' Saul. So, dear Op, u should learn to quote the full story, and not just mention the parts that suit you.

By the way, are you aware Jesus criticized the jewish priests and pharisees? These priests were annointed, all the way from Aaron and his son Eleazar; the pharisees were great ''men of God'', same as you have pastors and evangelists today.Yet Jesus called them ''hypocrites'' and ''a den of vipers''. I guess Jesus is now criticizing his own annointed.
