Well, I think the story is whacked because the source could not reveal him/herself, to show authenticity he or she should show him/herself not only on dailies but also on National T.V.
thankx

There's a huge difference between pastor chris and t.b joshua. while the former is sound as in very sound in biblical and spiritual things, the latter , well we hand him over to God for judgemnet. the bibles says " so then, each of us shall give acount of himself to God. Therefore, let us not judge one another anymore, " Rom. 14:10-13.

Personally, I do not believe Pastor Chris is fake, I had a very strong reservation for the atmosphere for miracles angle of his ministry until lately. The bible says whosoever mentions the name of the Lord should desist from iniquity.

People will say what they want to say, the Bible says do not be deceived God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, thesame will he reap.

The media knows what will sell for them. Anything from lying to defamation of Men of God.

Let all men be liars and let God be God.

This whole story cannot be sudstantiated. some brother comes up to say someone attempted offering him money to pretend he was sick and then act up a miraculous healing during a crusade officiated by Pastor Chris, blah blah blah ! it smells foul from a mile ! . if this dude truly had the fear of God like he said, he ought to have shed his cloak of anonymity by disclosing who he was ( some might argue he was trying to protect his privacy and all that ) and the name of the person he alleged tried briding him to fake his healing,

How do people become instant celebs and national heroes ? Isn't it by standing up to dignified principles when those around you are doing the direct opposite ?, The guy needs to have his head checked by a 'head shrinker',

It's not fair to try to run someone down simply because the person is obviously prospering in whatever he/she is doing . Pastor Chris is one dude who's really prospering ! And hey, those of you that are wont to judge Pastor Chris or any other human being for that matter should be careful, judge not that ye may not be judged !

Make we leave matter for God oooo, wink

Here is my opinion: these folks that are paraded as recepients of healings or miracles are neither ghosts nor are they aliens. these are Nigerians who live among us; I think it will be absolutely dump for anybody to want to stage a miracle with someone whose origin can be traced easily.

Dont mind them jire, they are afraid of truth.

It is over a decade since we started seeing these miracles from pastor Chris' ministry on TV and here we are still trying  to get one hungry man from

south Africa to identify himself as one who was given money to testify of having recieved a miracle.

They try to discredit the miracles because if we all agree that they are true,

then their sins and condemnation are before them for they have rejected the son of God in their hearts.

i just read a compreshensive report of the South Africa Night of Bliss on Christ Embassy Web site.
From the pictures of the event and crowd, no amount or level of crowd renting could have attracted such a gathering. also if the tale bearer was offered money to sit ona wheelchair and then act healed, what of those with legs and arms which had shrunk from lack of useage. such people were seen walkingandexercising such limbs. now the poser, where they also paid to develop shrunk or withered limbs. wink wink wink wink wink embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed

was at the healing school of christembassy on Tue June 3. Saw awesome demonstrations of the spirit. the sick were healed, lame walked, those paralazed were made whole. As for top Nigerians in attendance, you may not believe it if i reel out the names. the testimonies would soon be public. you need to see the joy of people healed of various diseases.
really a powerful experience. grin grin cheesy cheesy

I heard about a top business mogul in nigeria who was healed @ the just concluded healing school session. Even though this is not the first time dignitories have witnessed first hand, the power of God in our meetings, I was so emotional on hearing this testiomony because i remember a friend of mine years ago refer to him as 'no more than a vegetable'; yet he owns some of the largest businesses in Nigeria, some of which are run by the his wife who is also a popular figure. Well it'll be on TV soon for all to see.

Well, what can i say, how much will pastor Chris have given such a rich elderly man to pretend to be sick and later miraculously healed.

I advice all these mockers on nairaland to repent and go and weep for their sins before their cup gets full.

As for our South African brothers who shamelessly went as low as to write unfounded jargon; even though Christ Embassy did not stoop as low as to respond to them, i think the whole world eventually saw not too long ago, how much they 'appreciate' the good work of foreigners in their country with such violent demonstrations.

Little wonder, the Night of bliss program was visited with so much opposition because it came to shake satan's kingdom with mighty manifestations of the power and glory of God's kingdom.

this is exactly what is wrong with modern day xtians. If we as observers need miracles to reinforce our faith then i think something is wrong. I noticed the way you used the word emotional. Emotions cloud judgement and you should always try to leave your emotions at home a smuch as possible when you go to church

Bluehorizo,
then i think ur not familiar with bible miracles. Can u tell me any of the bible miracles that was explanable?

Is it the turning of water into wine, is it rise up and walk (for some1 who has not walked all his life) but for him to rise up and run, was it an ax-head floating on water, was it the children of israel crossing the red sea, was it water from rocks, was it,

its uncountable. If this miracles are explainable, then they are not miracles. And mind u, I was in Christ Embassy and personally experienced the miracles. I have seen some done frm my own hands by the powe of God. Will i now turn and say cos some freak said it wasn't real then i get scared and deny those things that are proven.

U need to get inot that life to understand what it entails.

Shalom all!!!

this is no scandal, its just an attempt to stay below, cos many who criticise never ever make a head way, they stay below while others move ahead

check out many of Pastor Chris' critcs, are they anywhere near his level today

u just talk, talk, thats y u dont make any impact

impact is not about talk but DARE!!!

I preach against corruption. What is the core of your pastor's message?

Your type would encourage church members to steal from their employers to enrich the church since the earth is the Lord and the goodness thereof.

Miracles will earn no one a place in the kingdom of heaven! Matthew 7:15-23!
Re: Scandal: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome In South African Trouble! by fyneguy: 10:50am On Jun 11, 2008
lol multi=option

You preach against corruption? wow thats good keep it up. Has it stopped corruption in Nigeria?
May be you really have to double up your preaching effort and reach out to more Nigerians, because I'm not sure you have preached it to me grin

Anyway, that a pastor preaches against corruption doesn't make him less corrupt. Judas Iscariot criticized the woman who poured expensive perfume on Jesus, saying the perfume could have been sold and the money used to help the less privileged. Hmmmm didnt that sound passionate? logically yes! however, the man just wanted some more money in the treasury to steal grin

Bro, just focus on improving your relationship with God and preaching against corruption and other vices grin
and wait for your prosperity in heaven.

if I believed in prosperity while on earth, leave me to God to judge

They were not physically and scientifically explainable. But there was no controversy as to whether they were authentic. Thats the obvious difference.

What we usually see on TV is 'after' and on very few occassions, 'before and after'.

We really should be seeing 'before, during and after'. That will silence all the critics.
Re: Scandal: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome In South African Trouble! by fyneguy: 11:16am On Jun 11, 2008
lol AKO,

how did you know that the miracles in the bible really happened? Give me a proof that the miracles happened
Re: Scandal: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome In South African Trouble! by AKO1(m): 11:41am On Jun 11, 2008
IF youre not an atheist and you are questioning biblical events then I dont think you should consider yourself a christian. Its not personal attack, its just simple logic.

How do you know Jesus died for your sins? Whats your proof?

The bible is eternally true. As a christian, I dont need to explain that to you in depth. But every other thing that happens outside and after it is subject to valid scrutiny.
Re: Scandal: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome In South African Trouble! by fyneguy: 11:54am On Jun 11, 2008
lol AKO,

you always amuse me.

whatever (I presume Faith) made you believe in the bible, should also make you believe greater things than Jesus did still happen. And there's no where in the bible that says post-biblical miracles should be subjected to empirical proof.

If I needed proof to validate a post-biblical miracle, I needed same for those that happened in the bible.

You either believe or not. The healing school's door is always open to you to witness the so called "before, during, and after' events that you need to believe. Meanwhile, what do u(ako) stand to gain when the miracle is proven?

Emotions cloud judgement and you should always try to leave your emotions at home a smuch as possible when you go to church

You have no idea about whom you are addressing. I guess you are new on nairaland.

Observers? God forbid! Not me and you. Let me tell you something; i have been trained in the Word of God enough to know that there's no room for observers in God's Kingdom! We as christians are called and sent to preach the gospel, not by story telling, logic or philosophy but with demonstration of the Spirit and of Power. By the grace of God i have worked miracles with my own hands. I have and still do see the sick healed through me in fulfilment of the Word of God and i'm not a pastor but a christian.

It is not uncommon to see young people in our church taking rsponsiblility in God's house. They are not ashmed to preach the gospel everywhere they go while you sit and begin to measure yourself with others, pointing fingers here and there.

What judgement did my emotions cloud? The Word of God is the judge my friend and that same word will judge each and every one of us at the end.

Is it now a sin to show emotion?  Did i say i was in church?  Modern day christains? I don't blame you. You do not know who we are, who sent us or what we are about. The scriptures we read and which we are fulfilling were authored by one who is older than this world.

Some of you who say CE is doing nothing about corrution are simply naive. Do you know what will happen if we are to off-load all the cultists, armed robbers, prostitutes, including folks like me back into the streets? If that happens, you will run out of the country. Millions of youths who could have carried arms are now carrying bibles and doing something with their lives because of the work of CE in this country. I have witnessed many times armed robbers surrendering their arms at our crusades.

You think you know our message but you really don't. Preaching against corruption without power will do nothing. First God empowers the  words you speak, even in prayer, then he begins to work in the government and soceity at large. He gives you practical ideas which you will carry out.

You have no idea how many lives have been saved because we did not just talk but took action.

By the way sef, that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread so you can take your bad-belle else where. The arguement is mircacles; whether or not they were arranged.

So if you do not have anything to say just read and log off.

fyneguy:

Meanwhile, what do u(ako) stand to gain when the miracle is proven?

I stand to gain nothing. However, the Thomases; the die hard atheists and muslims need to see before they believe. Jesus did not refuse to show Thomas His hands when he asked. God even said:
" Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

However, He balanced things up and said that we are more blessed because we see without believing!

There are people who must see. Most of them are not christians yet. We (the whole body of Christ) must rise to the occassion and take miracles/the supernatural from the confines of crusade grounds and what have you to the places where these die hard critics are. I am not given to condemning another persons church because no matter what is happening, true or false, Christ is being preached, people are getting genuinly born again and are saved from hell. And I believe that is happening all the time in Christ Embassy all over.

I hope you are convinced that I stand nothing to gain. I know that I am more blessed for believing without seeing. But there are those who must see and it is for them I write. Cheers.

@donnie
the tone of ur voice depicts exactly what im talking about,

people should repent of their sins and stop criticising CE and pastor Xris? What is he God, that he cant be criticised? i have no opinion about him (good or bad) cos i dont know him, but when people like u come and get all offended by any criticism of ur pastor and church , it just smacks of 'fanaticism' a little.
just my ten cents.
