Pls house, help!!! I noticed d car vibrates at idle & had a kind of sound like exhaust leakage. Taking it 2 mechanic 4 check up, it was traced 2 one of d plugs being soaked. He replaced it & d vibration stopped with d odd sound. Pls what can dis translate to be? Or it’s implication? Ur adv wil be highly appreciated. Tks in adv. |

Simply put,you had a fouled plug. I cant wager a guess on the cause BUT if that cylinder keeps doing that then a rebuild might be in the future. Was it black oily or clearish color? |

If it's an oily coating on the plugs then that means that oil is entering the combustion chamber either past the rings or the valve stems. You should have been noticing lots of smoke out the exhaust though. If it's a clear covering than it's either water or fuel. I just finished rebuilding the cylinder head of a Toyota MR2 that had a microscopic crack along the spark plug jacket. Only when it's hot and under pressure would it leak coolant into the spark plug jacket area. Thx once again. @somorin. I threw d soaked plug away immediately I changed it so I can't b able 2 do any pix of it. And like u said I actualy noticed a degree of smoke frm d exhaust bt nt much. But based on all these explanatns, what r we really sayin? By d way, pls is there any particular plug u can recomend 4 use wt dis ride? Tks. |

mrhello: Thx once again. That next time these happens to save your plug so that you can read it. If this was my vehicle and if it has the 3SFE engine in it then I would be looking at the Bosch 4418 spark plug. Edit: According to my search your car actually listed about 10 different plugs from various manufactureres that will work. |
