AnodaIT: yet another droid vs apple thread.

The reason people preferred Windows to MAC and saw its growth was that a brand new window was a virgin fertile ground and user could plant almost anything they want there. MAC was a beautiful , sleek out-of-box machine but closed.
Novice would prefer the packed feature of MAC computer but expert would be complaining of the limitations.
.
Same here with phones. Symbian and Android is to Windows what Blackberry and iOS is to MAC.
Most people did not know that they could get push emails to their fones since 2008 until Blackberry came. Simply because Nokia expected you to configure it manually all the way while BB is straight in but you are limited to only what they gave you.
.
I always refer to Android as the Ultimate mobile OS cos of its versatility. The new package might not come with all the bells of Apple OS but it can afford you the function of adding almost anything you see on the iOS and so much more.
.
My advice. If your first smartphone experience is BB or iPhone then stick to it as you might muddle things up in the versatile android but if you were groom in the workings of symbian then move up to android or WP8
I think is better than android vs BB thread

@poster
1. Going to settings-general options-keyboards-add new keyboard... Adds new keyboards nd even emoji keyboards for any ios device over 4.3.. What's more u can legally jailbreak an iphone with cydia and get 1000's of keyboard customizations!! NEXT!!
2. With the ios6 at least I know that the lock screen features a camera toggle, complete with a drag down notiications tab for messages, weather and I'm's nd texts. And don't even forget that the whole tabbed app and homescreen idea was invented by apple decades ago! I don't know what rubbish u r talking about NEXT!!
3. I will not bother to go there, we all know the apple store has a world lot more apps than google play will ever half, what's more, apple gave out 5 dollars billion last year to app developers.. Just so u knw how dedicated these guys are to providing apps.. Na naija tif tif free tins de worry u. Dese apps aren't even really expensive...NEXT
4. Forget launchers, I already told u apple has more of such apps , u just don't know it. Winterboard from cydia will do dese and more. Just install and respring chikena
5. I took a pic with my camera, fowarded to my fiance while tweeting it to d public, den sent it for editing on instagram while sharing on my facebook. Under 5 mins with my iphone #nuffsaid.. Even ur phone book automatically gets updated from facebook, insta nd linkedin, nd I can choose to facetime when I want... Look no contest here!! NEXT!!
6. I cnt believe u r making mouth with airplane mode dat even weak fones have, what will u say next? Dat android supports cameras? Ur only plus here is external memory..and I've said it severally dat apart from storing films we've already watched and old songs, I wonder what d craze about excessive memory is
The only major difference is INITIAL COST, which is more expensive with ios.. But I tell u.. An iphone or mac will outlast their contemporary devices 5x over #fact!!

achi4u: Oga Bandits C thanks for your smooth answer.

do I ROOT frm SD to data...or should the reverse be the case...thatz the problems laid?

thanks once again.

I would advice against rooting if you are not quite sure what you need it for. Rooting mostly is for the hardcore perfectionists who want to set their own rules.

Rooting can also be extremely dangerous if you have no idea what you are doing and install the wrong or incompatible tools, you might end up bricking your phone where your new and shiny phone is nothing but equivalent to a piece of rock ( though most bricked phones can be recovered but the process is painstaking and requires serious attention to detail whereby everything would be gradually rolled back to default and sometimes, you may be unsuccessful)

Bottomline, do not attempt to root your phone if you are not good with tech stuff and modifying a file system. Rooting is the more evil and brutal brother of jailbreaking but has better rewards. Stay off it.

Everything you need to enhance your phone can be found on the play store. Just type it in and you would get plenty of results.

Your SD is stictly for data and file storage and has nothing to do with rooting.

Hope I had set you straight.

Irrespective of what reason we feel that andriod OS id better than iOS, apple products have a class of their own that other companies strieve to attain.

So much talk about android, so I got myself a techno grin. At 17k, that's the most expensive phone I have. Saving money to buy an iPhone 5. My friends advise me against it. But I said to myself if I would spend about 100k to buy a phone, it has to be an iPhone since I could get an android for 15k so why use s4 for 100k?
Let me make this clear: my friends that prefer android to iPhone are tech gurus but each time I pick up an iPhone, I can't help loving it than any other android phone I've seen. Talks about being closed are there but I still love it. I can't even transfer music or pix to another phone through Bluetooth but I still love it. I can't even download directly from the safari but I can't help but to continue loving despite all these flaws. To make up for those flaws, i would get cheap android fone( thanks to techno) to use alongside with my iPhone 5. Since I don't have over 200k to buy two phones. First choice- iPhone; second choice- android.

Bottom line:
The user knows what he likes in a phone so don't force others to use what you like cos they may not like that same features you crave for

Re: What Android Has That iOS Doesn't Have by ibietela2(m): 2:32am On Jun 11, 2013
dmcdad: I have used both and can give a clear difference between the two. No doubt, android beats apple hands down when it comes to customizations (although when jailbroken, you can customize your apple device to achieve whatever you can think of). Apple on the other hand has a more stable, faster, secured, optimized, polished, and simple UI which makes the overall user experience to be great. That apart, with the introduction of iOS 7, apple just nailed everything into one.

I can tell you authoritatively that since I have been using apple devices, I have never had the experience when an app or game lags for whatever reason, but that can not even be guaranteed with my GS3 as it lags even with the stock firmware, although custom seem better as they are better optimized to be faster than the stock firmwares.

in any case, I think it all comes down to user preference and all. But really, with the introduction of iOS 7, apple just got everything right.

Oh that's great, including expandable memory?? Removable battery?? So now you can share files via bluetooth with me(android user) one more thing, you can now click a link on Facebook and it will let you choose which bowser to use instead of default safari??

Upright750: Please tell us how much Samsung paid you for this your silly advart because you did not let them know how android can hang in the middle of your important work kinda browsing or chatting and you end up removing your battrey before it can go back to normal screen but iOS can never hang just like that .. The issue here is that u never use iPhone in first place. You just can across an old stupid article and then you came here I post ur without clear evidence . Go get rest ..
