PBundles: If this is true, that other religions are to be respected, then WHY ARE BIBLES NOT ALLOWED IN CERTAIN ISLAMIC COUNTRIES (ie The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). I may be wrong but is there any country that bans the Quran? And who told U so? Saudi Arabia is a pure Islamic state and if u want to worship any other thing apart from Islam then do so in ur room and don't disturb the next man.. There are quite a few Christian expatriates in Jeddah but they do not worship in public or large congregation..and if u think Saudi Arabia is unfair to Christianity, then try North Korea...Christian,Muslim,whatever u r..religion is a no no there so STOP spiting ur foolishness here bloody Christian fanatic |

Unfortunately it is an assault against free speech. Although free speech isn't absolute, that it has to be balanced with all other human rights. In this case, the simple act of burning a Bible as a form of protest is not harmful or detrimental to the State or anyone. And I doubt if Islam supports our secular values of human rights. |

Well, i think you are wrong, check out this link http://www.muslimspeak./2008/07/16/muslim-urban-legends-the-saudi-bible-ban/ Again, there are a lot of foreign expatriates working in KSA, they have the right to practice their religion even, an American military base was there during the gulf war and still there. Majority of these people are non-Muslims. |

Lakayanah: Go and burn the Quran in kano and see if your mouth will have more speeches to make or anyone from your clan that lives there would be spared.its still wrong to react violently because decided to burn his personal property. |

It simply means the books are indestructible by fire. Also it can be a sin for an outsider to burn holy books |

Kay 17: That's not d point..stop misconstruing my words..I was trying to explain Saudi is a tolerant state as against what the media portrays..there are a whole lot of expats in Saudi who are Christians and are deeply committed to their religion, they go about their business without any form of harassment SO FAR U DO NOT MAKE URSELF A NUISANCE TO EITHER D PUBLIC OR UR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR unlike North Korea that does not tolerate any form of religion.. 1 Like |

I wonder who is a fanatic. Back to the point, as I wont let you derail this which is what you want. Let me answer for you NONE. The quran is not banned in ANY country. North Korea which you fondly mentioned bans all forms of religions. So let me get this straight. You claim that Saudi Arabia is a pure islamic state but I THOUGHT SOMEONE JUST MENTIONED THAT ISLAM RESPECTS ALL REGIONS. I GUESS NOT. About christians in Jeddah, LET ME HELP YOU, IF THEY HAVE BIBLES TO WORHSIP WITH THEY MUST HAVE SMUGGLED IT IN SINCE THEY ALONG WITH ANY CHRISTIAN PARAPHANELIA ARE SEIZED AT THE PORT OF ENTRY AT THE AIRPORT. DONT YOU KNOW THAT. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. |

Paschal007:if you own either of the holy books and you feel it's your right to burn it please do it at the confines of your house and let only your conscience judge you when you come and do it in the open it will certainly affect they worshipers of that faith for you have desecrated their holy book. |

Why jail someone for burning a bible? We should remember dt a bible becomes a bible only wen it is been put to action likewise the koran otherwise it remains a common book |

This is interesting but Im sorry to burst your bubble, but its illegal in KSA. I would rather you quote the KSA government and not an unauthrised website and YT film.Freedom of religion is neither recognized nor protected under the law and is severely restricted in practice. According to the 1992 Basic Law, Sunni Islam is the official religion and the country’s constitution is the Qur’an and the Sunna (traditions and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). Just because something is tolerated doesnt mean its allowed. Im talking from first hand experience. A co-workers BIBLE was taken AT THE AIRPORT. HE IS AMERICAN. Later one of the airport guys snook it back to him but told him to hide it. WHEN ASKED WHY HE WAS TOLD, THOUGH IT RARELY HAPPENS TO AMERICANS YOU CAN BE ARRESTED AS ITS AGAINST THE LAW. IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME PLEASE ANYONE CALL THE EMBASSY AND SIMPLY ASK IT AGAINST THE LAW TO OWN A BIBLE OR PRACTISE CHRISTIANITY IN KSA. Its not my words, its SAUIDI LAW and Im really surprised that muslims don know this. On the Military BASE, you are correct BUT THATS BECAUSE THE SOLDIERS THAT FLY IN ARE NOT CONTROLLED BY SAUDI OFFCIALS AND THE BASE IS SEEN AS AN EXTENSION OF THE USA. It has the same international powers and protection as an embassy. Embassies are protested by international law. You are not allowed to enter or check diplomatic officers and their residence. sino:[b]This is interesting but Im sorry to burst your bubble, but its illegal in KSA. Stone age mentality. Who carries books around in paper form nowadays? My bible and koran and satanic handbook are all in one folder in the cloud. All versions. I download and read and copy and destroy as I want. Some people still get worked up over ink and paper. Mtcheeew. 1 Like |

PBundles: U don't smuggle pass those alphabet boys at their airports or borders..they got eagle eyes..they got scanners to detect everything thing U got..one thing i know for sure is that if u r an xpat with a bible for ur personal worship,my guy,dem go free U..Americans r demi gods in Arab Nations..forget dt madness CNN potrays,.. truth is an average Christian don't understand the tenets of Islam..all religion has got fanatics but its rather unfortunate Islam has the spotlight..talk of that brevik killing, talk of Buddhists who murdered thousands in Burma cos they Muslims, talk of so many atrocities committed by folks of other religion in d name of whatever or whoever they serve..the Quran just like the bible is a book filled with parables and some may understand it well while some may decide to turn it d other way round..Islam is religion of peace and any form of violence/violent act is FORBIDDEN EXCEPT FOR SELF DEFENSE |

Atleast we are back to being cordial and Im no longer a BLOODY CHRISTIAN, so we have gotten somewhere. I never said that one religion is better than the other. On the contrary I believe that religion has been the center peace of most wars and conflicts. My point is simple, what it is it is, but dont make it better looking then it is. The fact is Bibles are banned in most islamic countries, do I get points or awards for it NO. Just say dude you are right , wish it wasnt that way but it is, I didnt make the rules. But dont tell me Im seeing Blue when I see Red. sanniemoe: |
