Obviously u don't understand wat the residency training is allabout...so go and read about it...during residency training...a doctor is employed nd he works actively..infact doing more work than is expected of him...nd he's just being paid for the services rendered...if there is no training...medical officers would stillbe employed..(Who are not in training..) Nd will be paid much more than d residents in training...meanwhile...doctors pay for exams...seminars courses...part 1 exam is 100k...so I ask u...do u think u not ignorant now...

Another example.
A training in laparoscopic procedures may take months to years and in many cases are available only to institutions rather than individuals. Costs for individuals are often more expensive we are talking thousands of dollars.
Now, if i take a bank loan and get this training and take another bank loan and procure equipment to enable me practise. What i'll simply do is to cater for only clients who can afford the services because i have to pay back the loans. How will i have helped the common man? Don't you get it that when it come to training of doctors and facilities the govt just has to intervene. It is a global phenomenon.

In the US Nurses earn MORE than interns, In Nigeria a House Officer earns more that a Matron and then you want government to pay for your training

Nigerian doctors you find in the UK, US are those who did their residency training programme there. Thus they owe the Nigerian govt no obligation whatsoever. In any case if they decide to return it is for humanitarian purposes as the govt cannot afford to pay them a quarter of their earnings in the US where they trained.
Remember i said that resident doctors who are sent for overseas training are often required to sign a bond and you called me a liar. Well here it comes up again.

I meant to say undergrad electives.
Even many residents sponsor themselves on electives.
